•I'm looking at purchasing Feisol legs with a Manfrotto ball head. Will this work?
I use a feisol tripod with manfrotto head without issues and the head is a straight fit (no adapter). I have an even lighter set of legs, the tournament CT3442 and they are more stable than the manfrotto legs they replaced (055ProBX). Hope that helps.
I've used it with a D610 and D810 with 70-200 lens (f4), 24-70 f2.8 plus others without issue. I wouldn't recommend it for use with the exotics and such. A D810 + 200-500 would be fine I'd think (only about 3.5Kg total). I've no experience of the xpro head so can't really comment on that, I use an older 496rc2 which I've converted to take arca swiss. I find it easy to use and stable - the best thing is it is light so I'm happy to carry it![]()
a hook under the central column from which you can hang a stabilising weight, such as your gear bag.
That's not always recommended in windy weather. Unless your bag is resting on the ground it can blow about and introduce more vibrations that it prevents.
