Have been considering lens options which will add something to my travel shots. I'm mostly just wanting to capture landscapes and cityscapes as I visit various parts of europe over the next year (am visiting from NZ). My gallery will give you a bit of a taste of the stuff i've taken to date.
Have only just got into photography in recent months as I've started travelling so only have the Nikon D40 with Kit lens (17-55) which has done the trick to date without blowing me away.
I've been reading lots about the Nikkor 50mm f1.8 D (yes, I know i'll have to manual focus) and the Sigma 10-20 HMS and while I now know that they are both good lenses, I'm just not sure which one i'll get more use of as I go to places like Croatia (where i'll be spending time capturing nature in National Parks, cities, beaches, sunsets etc).
On a bit of a budget, so really only want to get one at this stage as i'm guessing many of you will suggest getting both as they both are good for very different things.
But essentially i'm asking what is a good lens for general travel photography to complement my kit lens?
Thanks all
