Trade Canvas Print - Our community, photos, offers & more

Ah wasn't my internet connection then. Currently looking for wall space around the house...want a reason to order another canvas :)

Hi All,

Holly....... Your internet is fine..... thought mine was on the blink when the site went down too! Right so a bit of an update, our website hosting company Dotnetworks (A local company to us) have been targetted by hackers in china...... So as a result there security software shutdown all of there clients websites to safe guard them.... hence us left with no site. They are now migrating the site to a new server and we hae been told our site will be up and running at some point late tonight..... maybe tomorrow. If you cannot get onto our site the migration will still be taking place so dont panic. In the meantime I can be contacted here on the forum or via email benfecci@tradecanvasprint.co.uk should you need info etc.

Thanks Ben

Sounds like you've had a nightmare with it mate :(

Hi Nick, It has been an absolute nightmare and a half mate, extremely hard to sort out. The company who do our site has been hit hardest, it's the first time it's ever happened to them in nearly 10 years.

Anyway our site is now up and running but emails to us are still bouncing back as the server hasn't fully updated yet. If you are on our site and see anything odd, or have problem using/uploading etc please do let me know on here.

Thanks Ben

Hi,
Just going through this thread. Just Liked you on FB (Mark Vickers). How can I find out about resolution and sizing for your product please as I have an enquiry for a canvas and the last canvas I had printed was poor.

Much appreciated,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Just to clarify..... the last canvas you had printed.... "The poor one" wasn't with us. Send me all the details about what size etc you'd like and I'll let you know what spec you need.

Thanks Ben

Hi Ben,
No, I have not purchased from you. It does read that way now you mention it, sorry for that!

What's the best way to contact you?

Mark

Hi All,

A few TPF members have let us know that the discount code TPF10 which should take 10% discount off your orders is not working correctly. This problem is only effecting some members and started when we swapped servers due to the problems we encountered a week or so back. The code problem should now be sorted but do let me know if any other site issues arise.

Thanks TPF members who have let us know of the issues since the server swap, all the feedback, help etc is greatly received.

Thanks Ben

Hi All,
Just another very quick update, some of our deliveries are being delayed due to the adverse weather conditions, we have been very lucky the past week with no snow what so ever however yesterday and today it has snowed.... snowed and snowed! We have had notifications of over half our consignments being delayed, those affected have now all been notified via email. Anyone affected will be told of there new day/date of delivery as soon as we have it confirmed our end.

Sorry to those affected, but the snow has well and truly slowed us down : (

Thanks Ben

Ordered my first canvas from http://www.tradecanvasprint.co.uk/ today. had an email conversation with Ben who was extremely helpful displaying exactly how customer service should be done. I'm really excited about getting this canvas, it's the biggest single print I have ever done of any of my images (30x30 inches). Can't wait to see it.

I've just registered on the site. Can I just check that the prices include vat.
Thanks.

Includes VAT... Thanks ben
Thanks, I thought it had to as there was no mention of vat, but with you being called 'Trade...' I thought I'd check :)

I don't actually offer Canvases, but if I start I'd like to try these out.
Thanks.

I had a 5ftx1.5ft one done from Ben and it was really really nice. The guy who I had it made for was over the moon and its possibly going to result in some repeat business so all is well

From the feedback on this thread, no doubt. But canvases result in a softer image than the alternatives, and they're also cheaper (ie, clients can buy them cheap too), so I'm not sure I want to offer them :)

Softer than which alternatives - acrylics?
Framed prints, metals, acrylic, etc.

Thing is with a canvas. Only reason it may appear softer is because if the size.
They don't appear softer because of their size, they are softer. But like you say, if you get a large one, the viewing distance can make up for this. No one is saying you'd have a problem with them, but they aren't as sharp as the alternative media.

Just received my first canvas (26" x 18") from TCP today, and I am very pleased with it.

I would suggest that the prices be available without having to log in. I never normally buy from a site that makes it difficult to compare prices with the competition. The only reason I did so in this case was because of the recommendations here.

Just putting my price list together. Without having to look throught this entire thread can you tell me about shipping costs for canvases and prints.

jeff

Hi Jeff,

Postage is £7.95 for unlimted canvases sent to the same address.

Hope this helps..... will be on the forum more from next week to reply to questions etc.... just in the middle of some large orders so taking my alot of my time at the mo.

^ Thanks for the reply!!

Another noobie question - I have an image, which has a persons hair at the very top of the image. When the image is printed onto canvas and then wrapped I am sure the persons hair/head will be cut off. By looking at the image above I would assume that if I added a minimum of 38mm each onto the top, bottom, left and right in photoshop, I would be able to still save the head?

Ben will be able to advise you on this, they could mirror the edges of the image for you so that nothing is lost when its wraped around the frame.

I opened the image up. Opened the canvas size window and added 4cm to each side so in total 8cm to the height and 8cm to the width. Made the new canvas extension colour to black. The black denoting the wrap. I then used clone/marque tool to get everything to mirror nicely.

After:

The carpet looks weird but that will be wrapped so not going to show - I hope!!

You could always print it with a black or white edges and not have to worry about the wrap then.

Hi JR, Sorry for not replying back sooner..... looks like Johnsy's been helping you out (Thanks G) as for the mirroring etc leave it to us.... send me your file to benfecci@tradecanvasprint.co.uk and I'll send you a proof back, as we like to do the mirroring ourselves so that it aligns perfectly with our frames and so we know 100% the sizing of our print ready files etc.

It may even be we do not need to mirror the edge but extend the background to wrap around the frame.... anyway send it on over and I'll proof the options back, you can choose whatever your happiest with.

Thanks Ben

Never have I experienced such an outstanding service from a printing company! Ben has been ever so grateful in assisting me with sorting the photos out to make them appear visually more pleasing. A lot of dedication has gone into helping me and I strongly guarantee you that he will help any of you thinking to print with his company.

I could have gone mainstream and used PhotoBox for their BOGOF's and 70% off deals, but there again I would have a canvas back that would be just horrible to view.

One to use again and again and again. :)

My thanks to Ben for an excellent service. Ordered 22.00 Monday night, received this morning....... 36 hours total and in time for my daughter's return to Holland today.

Plus, the quality of print and the construction of the canvas frame is second to none. Highly recommended.

Thanks

jeff

Just placed 1st order and noticed it said "10% off your 1st order" ... sadly it didn't do this for me :(
