dave, i only managed to grab a quick one with a point n shoot but i maybe able to pull a still from the video. x
lol no, theres no prize! not bothered about a prize to be honest, it was just nice to be asked to do something so exciting (but scary!) and im flattered they asked me to do it!
the final will be between me (and two other winner decided in the next two Thursday's) and i THINK whoever wins...the studio crew get to eat their cake LOL.
yeah i had to take it to london with me almost finished. finish it off live in studio (we got less time than i first thought) and then the reveal....we brought it back with us as lots of people have their names on a slice! LOL
, good luck with the rest of the competition
xxwell i had a business advisor but he was basically leaving me to it as i was staying small/not making money...i think hed rather concentrate on going big.
i can claim some sort of percentage on lighting etc but not sure on all that yet...i have all the stuff i need apart from the certificate for the kitchen...i havent ventured down that route yet due to how busy i am! LOL
LOL i live in Bacup....Chav central And im sure Cheshire already has a well established/reputable cake shop...infact i think its a cake studio?
i have to have a good think about what im going to do with my business first...as it stands im not making any money...or if i am, its very little.
Ive decided i do NOT want to freeze my cakes like shops do...whats the point in baking a nice fresh cake..only to freeze it!! id want to eat it straight away!
But if i bake each cake totally fresh like i do already....thats limits me to how many cakes i can make a week....so to have an actual income those cakes would have to be priced highly, rather than make cheaper cakes but tons of them.
does that even make sense?! LOL
Bottom line, if you don't make money on 20 cakes a week, you might as well charge more and not make money on 10 cakes a week for half the work at double the price.
I just googled novelty cakes
The first hit didn't have any prices but some of them didn't look great
the second hit came up with prices from £150-£300 so that's where you need to be to make money at it

Congratulations Tracey. The cake looked wonderful.

Well done Tracey and good luck for the final. Putting backup ont'map xx
the comments the judges made are some im not going to forget for a long time!
I mean...Jane ASHER!!! None of us knew who the judges were till the day...we thought the audience were voting!
LOL still dont think ill have a shop...cost too much to run! ha ha
