I took my laptop to USA and took a gps mouse attachment too. Not used GPS much but it saved us from getting lost a few times. Downside is it is a clumsy system. That said it made me realise how useful it can be.
Just had a look round for a proper unit and found an offer on the tomtom one - the new model with the sirfstar chip that has much better reception.
Robert Dyas the hardware chain are selling electricals now (mostly at not very competitive prices) and currently have a 20% off everything offer for new customers. So I registered and the £200 price got discounted to £160 and as a bonus the £4.50 p&p shown on the item page changed to £0.0.
Reviews say it is a good unit so I'm hoping they are right
