As I explained we refunded your card many days ago now.Here is the info from paypal (credit card gateway)

Follow up to our conversation this morning, and a review of your PayPal account, I can confirm the following.

On 16-December-2013, you received a payment of £385.22 GBP from the buyer Yakov Gorbulski. This transaction became the subject of a Chargeback on 24-December-2013.

Subsequently, a full refund was made to the buyer's card on 03-January-2014 which means you no longer have the funds and the money has returned to the funding card issuer.

Refunds to cards should appear in the card account within 5-7 working days but depending on the card issuer it could take as long as 30 days. Your buyer will need to confirm this with their card issuer.

Please let me know if you require further assistance.

This thread is going around in circles, could I please suggest that people allow Ben @ Tiptop to get on with proving his business is good and focus on answering customer questions instead of pulling strips of each other. I like a few actual customers have spend hard cash with Tiptop and would prefer his time is invested in getting my order fulfilled and responding to emails. Ben - An update on my order would be appreciated, I know it is inside the 7 days you state but as the item was in stock I would have expected an quick delivery. The order ref again is 12021

I have an upcoming kids sports event to shoot and cannot be without this kit.

Isn't it you that does the hiding? Where are you hiding today, UK, Australia, New Zealand?
You telephone number means nothing to me. Anybody can buy a London telephone number, hell you can even buy them through Skype which you use so much.

Why don't you have a Bournemouth telephone number?

Why can't you get your answers from their email or telephone number?
 
I have emailed them, called them and also sent a message to them on FB. No reply.. earlier today, on here, Ben said he will provide an update, I will hold judgement until I hear back. I still think the order will be fulfilled but so far the level of communication is not good. This camera is also a bit special for me, I had one previously which got broken and could not afford to replace it.. having 2 kids money does not pour out my taps. this is a present from my wife so I can finally stop winging at her :) photography has become a large part of my life due to Osteoarthritis and spine operations I cannot do the sports I used to hence taking up photography. Not having a replacement is like having a missing arm.

Patriotspyke, Ben "Ratner" Broome is supposedly standing by the phone today to take calls from anyone who wants more info about his business. Why don't you just phone him and get the info directly from him?

I've been following this thread with interest from the beginning and was as dubious as most about Tip Top. Didn't comment at first because I had no direct dealings with them. I've also been following the thread on HUKD but again did not comment.

Seeing the many positive reviews from "genuine" customers ,and brand new members who have made purchases from Tip Top (both here and on HUKD) has certainly got rid of any doubt I had about whether to buy from them.

Absolutely not a chance.

It also seems that Drew (Dhruv?) & the Indian connection still exists, when I thought you suggested it had been severed?
 
If I was one of your customers (made up or otherwise), this would really P*** me off. Why is it you think this situation is amusing in the slightest? We are talking about other peoples money here...you know, money that they have worked hard for. All you seem to be doing is making light of what people have real concerns over.

Nope, not a wind up. I still dont see what you find so funny about someone being concerned about losing their money.

Ben, it eems like you pick & choose what to reply to, which is the main reason this thread is the way it is.

Clearing up the main concerns would seem to have been the obvious & easy thing to have done originally, thus allaying the genuine & obvious concerns?
 
Ben, I have no horse in this race, but it seems to me the one thing you could fix from your end - correct the T&Cs - hasn't been done, and you are in fact 'avin a laff.

Funny how this `reviewer` posted;
I ordered an item from these guys on Dec 31, tempted by an excellent price, and without checking any user feedback - the website looked convincing. I was assuming that it would arrive by Jan 10, when I am going away for a time. Nothing had arrived by today, so I phoned, and got through to Drew.
He was reasonably helpful, but unfortunately it looks like the item won't get to me until after that time.
I hope this isn't a case of a deal that was too good to be true - I'll find out at some stage in the next ten days, I guess, and add a comment to this thread.

I've got to say, although initially sceptical about your `business` I & others asked for answers to some serious concerns in order to clear the murky-waters, but unfortunately they seem muddier than ever & you haven't helped your cause at all.

Getting negative comments & reviews deleted from anywhere possible, seemingly `spamming` positive reviews, not replying to questions (before and AFTER purchases) strange T&C's........

I certainly couldn't purchase from you, even with a credit card!

Toni has hit the nail on the head here, instead of trotting out 'happy' customers, fix the problems of those who are complaining. Fix the terms and conditions on your website and live up the the claims of reliability and service that are repeated in numerous places on your website.

With regards to these 'happy' customers a number of them are supposedly from the UK but don't 'talk' like they're from the UK, they use phrases that just aren't used here and that smacks of a put up job.

I'm not in the market for anything TipTop sell, if I was after having read this thread and Bens' responses I would shop elsewhere.

Maybe a P.O.D( pay on delivery) system would be the answer to satisfy both seller and purchaser. Just a thought !

Why bother searching for reviews in the first place?

Pay on your CC and if you don't get the product file a charge back. Simple!

My only issue is the warranty as I don't know if they will help down the line if the camera develops a problem. But still I saved 1/3rd the price on my camera so that is a slight risk I am willing to take.

Actually Paypal offered me this on checkout when I was considering paying through them on the tip top website. I don't know if that depends on your account or the business you are dealing with. In total I was offered around 14 days from the time of order for the payment (10 working days)

I also ordered something of the Alexander McQueen website which ships from Italy and they offered cash on delivery so its certainly possible.

And that's what's wrong with this country. Let somebody else take responsibility for your bad buying decision.
At the end of the day they will recover their losses from somewhere. Usually you and I.

You may have received you goods, although I'm dubious, but when it goes wrong and Ben is nowhere to be found, you'll be knocking on the credit card companies door.

I suspect a simple email reply is exactly what the customer would want, and that would also put your words and commitment in writing, which I'm sure they would find reassuring.

After reading the rambling rantings of this ******, all I can say is that anybody who orders from these ******** after reading this thread deserves everything they get.
 
Well, I ordered a GX7 at the end of December and it arrived today. No problems at all so far and the price was very attractive.
The delay? Out of stock.
Anyway, from my experience I can vouch for Tiptop.

Out of stock? lol This is just one of the issues. Most goods aren't in stock ....they are imported! (& it isn't clear on their site when ordering + they don't tell you whether you will have extra fees/duty to pay)
 
No, it arrived without additional charges. Shipped from the UK.

Actually that's one thing that is clear if you look at the "Shipping" page

Hugh, the trouble is when ordering, you don't know where it's coming from. Reading quite a few posts & negative comments on review sites & f/book (of which a lot have now been removed) folk were quoted X number of days, but didn't receive goods as promised. tiptop apparently didn't reply to their queries either.
 
It does all rather smell like someone who doesn't hold stock and is simply quoting prices based on their wholesaler plus slim margin minus UK tax and hoping for the best. Not that I have any evidence of this, you understand. However, I can't see why you wouldn't just use panamoz or digital rev if you were wanting grey imports cheaply and reliably?
