Tia Sharp: police find body at home of grandmother

Simmo, I'm not chest thumping, I'm just sick of those that do, arguing/discussing? the minutiae AF a young girls death.

What are we supposed to do in a discussion thread?

What are we supposed to do in a discussion thread?

At a time like this you're supposed not to make it into an unbecoming demonstration.

Tom, I'm not being sarky or nasty here, I just don't believe it to be an appropriate subject for discussion. Again, if I've upset anyone, please accept my sincere apologies.

Please explain where I have made this an unbecoming demonstration.

I have stated a few facts based on my resources and also some personal views which others have also done.

As for respect, the discussion is also about a murderer, should I show respect to them?

No probs from me as I always value others opinions but why comment or read things that may upset you, that I don't understand.

To express my displeasure.

The Polis were not exactly on the ball here though, were they?

They most probably were, they just have to be careful how they do it

My thoughts are with the rest of the family

My thoughts exactly, Dave

Impossible to say without knowing the FACTS. They searched the house twice previously but only today discovered a body. It's quite possible that the body was only moved there yesterday or today. We simply don't have enough FACTS to accuse the police of anything other than doing their utmost to find this poor girl.

Such a beautiful girl. I hope whoever did it gets caught and I can only hope they suffer copious amounts of pain throughout the rest of their life

This is the point I was trying to make in my own uniquely clumsy way.

Cant be arsed reading some of the *******s in this thread, but seems he has been caught (sorry if already covered, but it seems to be a recent turn of events).

With a good chunk of the UK media, not to mention a fair few Met Police officers, hanging round outside?

Fair point Graham. What I'm trying to say is, it's a bit unfair to start accusing the police of incompetence with the minuscule amount of info we, the public, have at the moment.

A WEEK later?

....sorry but you are not making a lot of sense here?

I think Paul is just using examples to illustrate his point that we re simply speculating since we have little fact to go on.

Thanks Joe, yes the gist of what I'm saying is we simply don't know enough to accuse anyone of anything. We all want to blame someone for this awful tragedy but let's just let things transpire over next few days.

I'd have thought that the perpetrator would be the only person who could be blamed - if the police had found the body a week earlier she'd still be dead , so its not like the delay has had any massive consequence.

He used to go out with the girl's mother and started seeing the grandmother! What a bunch of utter chavs.

Jeremy Kyle specials the lot of them.

FFS. A young girl has been killed and you're insulting her family?!? Already? Before they've even identified the body?

Shame on you.

Aye Joe, in a way you are correct but the time period backs up my post.

Anyway it's still a very, very sad thing to happen.

erm - the body was found in the grandmothers house - are you seriously suggesting that at least one family member wasnt involved.

It's all very sad, but as I said to the better half last night when footage of a police dog coming out with a toy in it's mouth... "It has a toy/reward", therefore it has found something......

Still struggling to get my head round the whole set up of that dysfunctional family....

Yes it does.

But as stated above - its not a thread for scoring points

Glad you agree, in my view it was never about scoring points, somebody else tried to make it that way!

Mmmmmmm. The old bill know when something is not right. within a few days they have an idea of who why and where.

They have to do things by the book and not jump in with both feet as the family needs to be respected and a case like this is being watched by the whole Nation.

It's very rare for for the perp to be a stranger, very rare.
It's always a relative or close friend of the family.

That's why I get cheesed off with all Bull with CRB's for togs etc... This Country is full of scared parents who should know better.

9 times out of ten it's close reli or neighbour
Huntley was the one out of ten, but as always the sado is in a position of trust and close contact of the victim.

Another sad time.

Just to add..he hasn't been charged yet and I like to believe people are innocent until proven guilty.

If he is guilty then he should rot in hell for what he has done.

Every time there's a high profile tragedy like this case a thread pops up expressing sadness at the whole affair and then quickly degenerates into a bunch of amateurs playing Inspector Morse like a warped game of real-life of 'Whodunnit' with some form of morbid fascination.

I swear some people are unable to make the distinction between when Midsummer Murders and BBC News is on the box. By all means play along with a fictional crime drama, but speculating about the guilt of individuals in a case where the real life of a young girl has been lost is quite frankly disgusting. Shame on you if you feel the need, desire, or entitlement to behave in such a way. :shake::thumbsdown:

Moving side ways for a minute.

I don't believe in rotting........ Just hang muderers and rapists.... saves tax payers money and frees up prison space for drunk drivers.

The good ol media will blow it up so parents everywhere fear for their kids even more than they already do.....

Any way, this will just ensure that togs get an even harder time from insecure parents in parks and public areas when really they should worry more about Step Daddy and Uncle ......BOB.

Mr Godwin really could see the thread closed *rolleyes* ;)

Is that a promise ?

someone involved in this case must be just like the Sicherdenheist, the SS, the Nazi party or Hitler - i just havent decide who yet

There you go

(actually the SD would have found the body much sooner, given that they didnt have to worry about 'inconveniences' like evidence and suspects rights)

What a thread, actually thought this would only be about Tia not a ****ing contest, anybody done the my dad is bigger than yours yet?
Unfortunately because people don't want the police to be heavy handed, they can't do things like they used to, as stated above a gut feeling is no longer enough.
My gut was the Uncle initially, he was shouting the most and as they say, most times it's a family member.
Let's stop the slating watch other and just focus on the fact a young girl has tragically lost her life. I just hope she didn't suffer.

to be fair if you are going to be in a position of trust as a photographer who regularly goes into schools, or regularly works with a kids footie team etc then its no different to checking a school caretaker.

however the really stupid thing about the CRB hysteria is that it only checks if someone has been caught offending before - passing it doesnt automatically mean that someone isnt a nonce - just that they havent been caught.

no matter who what or why i just hope that the little girl rests in peace.
