Day #29

20/01/2011 - Photography Killed the Video Star

Yes, I've been playing with matches again. I'll try and make this the last fire-related shot for a while!

Day #30

30/01/2011 - Abstract Light

Had a mad spring clean of the house today and ran out of time for any other ideas so a bizarre concoction from the early hours of this morning shall do. (It wasn't fire!)

Day #33

02/02/2011 - Mmmm Candy

Candy, specifically sugar candy, is a confection made from a concentrated solution of sugar in water, to which flavorings and colorants are added. Candies come in numerous colors and varieties and have a long history in popular culture.

The Middle English word "candy" began to be used in the late 13th century, coming into English from the Old French çucre candi, derived in turn from Arabic qandi and Persian qand, "cane sugar."

Day #34

03/02/2011 - Happy New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! Its the Year of the Rabbit. So here's a poorly made origami rabbit. Soon after this was taken it was eaten by my dog.

RIP tiny rabbit. :(

Day #35

04/02/2011 - In the shadow of a legend.

Scotty Pippen played for the Chicago Bulls between '87 and '98. Many of those years in the shadow of Michael Jordan. Pippen was often overlooked when Jordan was on court but he is widely regarded as the best small forward of all time.

If you need proof, YouTube is your friend.

Day #36

05/02/2011 - Back In Time.

A thatched cottage roof, a Citroën DS and a red telephone box. Could this scene look any more English?

Ok yes it could be because that's a French car, but it's close.

Day #37 by Jordan Butters, on Flickr

Day #37

06/02/2011 - Duuude.

Longboarding is often thought to be based on skateboarding but is actually a sport based on the art of surfing. Developed as one sport on the west coast of America in the 1950's, longboarding and street skateboarding became popular with the youth of the time, and soon separated into separate disciplines in the 1990's. A longboard, with the right setup, can give the feeling of surfing on hard smooth surfaces. There is a variety of riding styles: downhill, cruising and carving, slalom, dancing, freeriding, vert and sliding.

Day #38

07/02/2011 - Sunshine

Seeing as there isn't enough of 'it' (sunshine) at the moment, here's another still life! Its almost light by the time I leave work now so hopefully some more outdoors stuff will follow!

Well I came back for another visit Jordan, and I'm glad i did.

The shower water drops are so crisp and sharp. They look like you could touch them.

I also love the wonderfully sunshine orange flowers. You're right - they do uplift the spirit like sunshine!

I'll be back!!

Wendy

Thanks Wendy!

Day #40

09/02/2011 - Watchful Eye

It was going to happen. Dog picture #1. I couldn't even sneak a shot, its like he KNEW it was time for the dog shots to begin.

PS - I'm thinking of jacking the 365 in, a friend made a good point in that it kinda spoils the fun in photography when you HAVE to force yourself to take a photo each day. Its like taking a photo for the sake of it. I've learn a lot from doing it but when the fun goes should I continue?

Day #43 by Jordan Butters, on Flickr

Day #43

12/02/2011 - Today I'll Take The Jag.

The Jaguar E-Type (UK) or XK-E (US) is a British automobile manufactured by Jaguar between 1961 and 1975. Its combination of good looks, high performance, and competitive pricing established the marque as an icon of 1960s motoring. A great success for Jaguar, over seventy thousand E-Types were sold during its lifespan.

Day #44

13/02/2011 - Pipes

These are the organ pipes at Fotheringhay Church, which we went to eye up today for our wedding next year.
Fotheringhay is a pretty interesting little village. It was home to the castle where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and ultimately beheaded.

The night before the execution her executioner was said to have stayed at an old inn next to the castle. That inn then became a farmhouse and is now a bed & breakfast. Its also where we are hoping to have our reception. It could be a creepy place to sleep!

Day #46

15/02/2011 - Hobbies

Snatched my 365 from the jaws of failure yesterday just before midnight!

Photography, drifting and sneakers. Perfect.

Day #47

16/02/2011 - Help Arrives!

This guy arrived from Japan to help me with my 365 today. Just in the nick of time too!

Day #49

17/02/2011 - Behind Closed Doors

I left it too late again and rushed out a photo I wasn't happy with. Back to Danbo tomorrow?

Day #50 by Jordan Butters, on Flickr

Day #50

19/02/2011 - Saturday Night at the Movies

Danbo tries to understand Inception. Although impressed by the special effects, he was just as confused as everyone else by the end.

Anyone reading this but me? :D

Day #51 by Jordan Butters, on Flickr

Day #51

20/02/2011 - Divided

This started out as another product type shot in the light box, but after playing with the flash I noticed the colours bouncing off the white flooring. A few development tweaks and we have dark and light divided by colour.

Day #52 by Jordan Butters, on Flickr

Day #52

21/02/2011 - Photography Lessons

Danbo takes a moment to learn a bit about photography. He's using a Canon 450D with Canon 70-200 F2.8L lens here. The trick for someone of Danbo's size is lining up the shot and then jumping up to hit the shutter button.

This process is not made any easier when all his subject wants to do is run around with him in his mouth and chew his legs.

Hi Jordan

Day #53

22/02/2011 - Nothing to Cry Over

I wasn't 100% happy with this but couldn't keep retaking it.

For one thing I do not appreciate dry Weetabix in the morning.

Catch up time!

24/02/2011 - Pollen

Left it late again, another still life macro. Must take camera out when light, must take camera out when light, must take......

Day #56

25/02/2011 - Meh

'Meh' being a fitting description for the following -
