Well, I am still like a dog with two willies
can't get over the fact I won the second challenge, and was really pleased with all my entries as I specifically took each one to fit each of my chosen proverbs.
I have been thinking long and hard as I wanted to make sure everyone was in a position to enter on a reasonably fair playing field, so I discounted portraiture (my chosen field) as there are distinct advantages to those who have studio flash lights and backgrounds etc, I discounted sports and nature as too specialized and would give the advantage to those photographers who are experienced in the field. I thought about landscapes (my preference, pity I'm no good at them) but the weather is not too great at the moment and with the short day light hours and in the limited time of the challenge it does not offer a lot of options for people who work.
So, I wanted a theme that could be shot indoors or out, day or night, with good equipment or poor and hopefully will make people think about how the light (for that is what we are doing, painting with light) will effect the final image and continue their journey forward.
So after wading through the ravings of a madman, this weeks topic is:
Texture
Now I will be looking for something different, and the good use of light will assist in this. Entries can be posted from 8pm on Sunday 25th (my birthday) and the competition will close at 8pm on Thursday 29th
Good luck all and I look forward to wading through the multitude of entries on my return next Tuesday!
