There are no jobs :(:(

Gutted Matt, I'd hate to be trying to find a job in the current climate. What have you found?

Mini 1.0 with bucket seats and three point harnes and mini speedlight wheels and a stainless exhaust and new rear and front sub frame!

:(

The insurance company would crucify you for it having bucket seats and 3 point harnesses and stainless steel exhausts make a horrible racket on Minis.

There you go, it was a close escape really ;)

Good taste though :) Love original minis

Nah, they only crucify you when you drop a 1275 engine in them. :naughty:
Bucket seats/harnesses would be mildly warm by comparison.

tbh the right insurance company will not change the price and say the mods are not insured.

Not declaring the mods invalidates your insurance so if he was involved in an accident, the insurance company wouldn't cover the car. Not the best advice

And being a new 17 year old driver, having mods on a car will heavily affect the premium.

It is £200 difference in declaring and not!

Not too bad. It's still worth declaring them though. Too much of a risk not to.

Bucket seats and harnesses suggest that you're going to be playing racing drivers on the road, which a lot of insurance companies aren't happy with

I loved my Minis.....especially the pick-up

Yep its true what they say about the lack of jobs. Many of my friends are really struggling to secure a job for when they finish university - its quite depressing facing £15k+ debt, with no money, nowhere to live and little prospect of jobs...

...but...

it will come to an end, and if the markets start to pick up, it will prove a short recession.

Not that bad

Mind you my first Mini had a straight pipe front to back with just Peco "silencer" on it. It was a tad on the noisy side

I had a van, battle ship grey :(

Saw a lime green pick up the other day though, it looked terrible

.

Neither was it the advice I was giving
Not sure why you thought I was.

One of my first was a grey/rust 1964 minivan-------aaahh,memories !
Pete.

Matt there are jobs out there, just few and far between. I presume you have emailed the recruitment team at Oulten Park and such like? McDonalds, Burger King etc etc? Pah, you can find a job if you want one bad enough hon ;)

As for not declaring stuff on your insurance; if you did (and god forbid you won't) have an accident, and hurt someone ... if the insurance turned out to be invalid because of the undeclared mods ... Think carefully about it Matt.

God damn! A Vtec... in a mini?!

Your insurance company sounds much like the one I used - didn't really care much about the stuff on the outside - although the under hood stuff did bad things happen to the old wallet!

hmmm £200 now or £50,000+ later, if your insurance is invalid because you didnt tell them the car wasnt standard and you write off a merc etc...

tough choice;)

if i remember correctly they will not kick up a fuss about it unless you make a claim then you gonna get left with a bill, as well as a fine and no license. Keep it legal and do it right:thumbs:

(not even taking into account injuring someone)

Thats right Fletch. Insurance companies will not ask to see a vehicle when you take out insurance as all they are actually selling you is a piece of paper for what in Matt's case could be £2000.

As long as you promise to lie Matt I will sell you that piece of paper for £1000 (only joking)

Of course as soon as you put in a claim thats when they will come and inspect. The first thing they will do is check tyres - illegal tyres = no insurance. Then they will check all is as you told them when you took out the insurance. Anything different = no insurance.

As to jobs get on the phone, you will soon get something if you put your mind to it

My first Mini had a lovely set of leather door hinges...............

unless you were whipping yourself with them whilst you were driving I do not think they were the sort of modification an insurance company would penalise

Your furry dice however - well they could be a totally different story ........

There is some swearing in this video

I think this golf has had serious money spent under the bonnet:D

48 seconds of that clip was enough for me. Those idiots should be banned for life.

and the job centre itself told me there was no jobs they told me to just write on my form that i looked for jobs in the papers and net so i can still get my dole, just so it looks like im looking. even the job centre had nowt for me

I'm going to say this again because I'm not sure I got my point across.

Some insurance companies don't care much about the body mods EVEN WHEN YOU DECLARE THEM. ie. when they ask 'Is the vehicle modified in anyway. you say 'Yes' and tell them what you have changed. If you shop around there are companies who will insure the car and not the modification

Not declaring modifications is foolish and I don't condone that at all.

Nice, Brits acting like ***** abroad. Does us all proud...

You reckon that's bad you should see what goes on when you get close to the Nurgurbring, it's horrendous. I have to be honest though, the bikers are worse there. But it's not to reassuring seeing some muppet in his Scooby ragging it around public roads. You're left wondering 'if that's him on a road, what's he going to do when he's actually on the track!'
