I wish I had this sort of money for lenses :( Still saving up £1,000. That's been taking me nearly a year on a student loan without a job :lol:

I am waiting for a call back about stock of a brand new 14-24 (yes I have caved in) so I may not have many pennies left - but then again I may have to have a damn good go at finding them for that thing of beauty...

As said earlier, the huge zoom range swung the Sigma over the fixed prime Nikons for me,it suits me better for the type of photography that I do.I suppose others prefer primes,each to thier own and all that.

There was a problem with the lens and Sigma are sorting it as I wait.........which is something i`m not good at.....:bang:

Bit like having my left arm chopped off not having that lens.

I need to do some serious thinking mate.
Its not something I would do on a whim. I love it to bits, but am i likely to use it as much as I should. I'll put my serious head on at some point and decide.Your name is on it until i decide. No hurry for either of us.

as i get Friday's off, so i normally come back on the Thurs night.

But ye give me a shout. And have some fun with the new lens :)

I just need to find someone close to me at here or home with a few canon zooms and primes, as I want to try some out before I buy.

Thats fine with me Kev - Wasn't on my radar so to speak but I'm very aware those things are rarer than rocking horse poo and they take better pictures too. That bag is to die for :cuckoo:

I feel dizzy just thinking about it - Lens porn, where will it end :naughty:

I couldn't get to grips with it :lol:
Everything is in stupid places and the photos I took were Poo :lol:

Well thats because they are 'proper' camera's. You'll just have to learn. I know its not something Canon shooters are used to, but it will come in time.... :popcorn::popcorn::whistling:

Yes - we could try each others 24-70s (but i'll smear the front of mine with vaseline to give your pics a nice dreamy effect :lol:

Seriously - My contract ends at the end of March so I may very well have some heel kicking time coming up and I may well come across to Yorkshire to see my mum one weekend soon anyway and would welcome the opportunity to meet up. I'd love to try my hand with those black tubes stuffed with cash.

Its just come sunny here so I think I'm gonna go and play out with the 24-70 now for a bit in fact - top up my tan :lol:

Might have to seriously think about it, I can find a pair of Kingfishers 3 out of 7 days here in Cambridge, and I reckon that would give me a better chance that the 500mm VR (which would have needed a TC)..

I can do 510m with my 300mm f/4 but I'm almost on top of them, and I think they know I'm there, even in a bag hide.
 
I've just been trying to find it on the forum. I only cleared out my pm's yesterday!!! It was the Sigma 300-800mm and was for sale amongst some other gear. I think the seller is going abroad.
Cant find it! It was only about a week ago that i spoke to him. P'med Fracster about it too at the time.

I think I recall seeing one of those on Ebay, seller going abroad. Maybe the same lens, I doubt he still has it now.

From March 1st the 200-400mm vr f4 retail price is going to be £5995. Had it confirmed by my dealer this afternoon. Crazy! :eek:
 
I think this is the other thread that Brains had started, where he was selling off his stuff due to him migrating; but it has been updated with items sold deleted from the original post :shrug:
