I maybe missing something but what you have posted is not bad IMO.
His wife was ill, now vomiting is not one of the symptoms of Covis and he said she did not have cough/fever which are the main ones. It could have been simply food poisoning or a bug, especially as after being sick she felt better. Based on what you have written I would have done the same as she seems to not have had covid symptoms.
Not only that, but if you think it can take up to 5 days to show first symptoms, DCs wife may have (via DC) been the one to spread covid to Bojo!!![]()
Well why am I not surprised.Me too, but apparently many of those who did flout the rules yesterday were quick to point a finger at Cummings pretty much saying if he can then so can we!
Who have? There's people near me that have had barbecues, people in my local supermarkets being d****, all those people in parks and yesterday on beaches. I haven't heard that they've been fined? Some maybe, but they were fined. The thing is that his household was symptomatic. Going against distancing is one thing, but when you are symptomatic its far worse.

Personally I'd be more worried about all the public that have continually ignored the social distancing during the lockdown.

Thanks for the link to the sign up page. I'm not really exposed enough to be suitable, but I've signed up anyway & if I get called then all the better.
Tomas - you were once a scientist - you should know better than this.
Nearly everybody on TP is a scientist John, experts in visual science* at leastA scientist ??(wide eyed). I've read several posts by LLP and I'm truly taken aback, dumbfounded. That's astonishing. No appropriate emoji available for shock.
Nearly everybody on TP is a scientist John, experts in visual science* at least. A friend of mine likes to call me a “word scientist”
... can’t think why, I’m sure he doesn’t mean pedant ... I think

Me?
I thought he returned to work when they were all recovering?
Anyway. I've said what I wanted to and although you don't not agree I'd rather urge a little more understanding and compassion and even forgiveness than be a part of the crowd condemning and calling for sackings. As I said, I may have done the same. I'm not going to change any minds so with that I'll bow out.
There are conventions about describing various sources of news. I‘m not sure what “government adviser” means but it sounds like an official source (ie a civil servant) and his/her name would not be very helpful.' a government adviser had since stated that there was no "formal review" of lockdown fines'.
Who are these people, I'd like names instead of some snitching unnamed p****.

I don’t think it’s correct to say the Cummings saga is a smokescreen but the rest of it is broadly accurate. It’s the same sort of thing that is happening in the US, Trump is making lots of changes to federal regulations etc which are going largely unnoticed behind his Twitter storms. Cummings is on record to favour “chaos” to bring about “reforms” I believeIs the Cummings saga nothing short of a smoke screen? Ok, there's nothing quite like a good 'ole conspiracy theory, but take 5 minutes and have a read of this:

No idea about masks etc (except there are lots of videos on homemade ones) but I’ve always bought gloves from Amazon:I would like to get some advice on purchasing PPE for my wife and me, we are both in the high-risk category and as such have only been out twice during the lockdown and then only for a car ride.
We would like to start going out on our scooters away from the crowded areas,i understand most face masks will offer us very little protection but i think we would feel better wearing one, at least we would feel we are doing our bit to protect others.
We are thinking of getting full-face visors and wearing disposable gloves.
Anyone got any links to the best places to buy these from and recommendations as to the specifications we should be looking for.
Thanks

Robert Jenrick on BBC this morning " he's [Cummings] done nothing wrong, he did everything within the rules....it's time to move on" says the guy that also broke lockdown rules, who clearly doesn't want himself, the PM's boss and his party to be scrutinised.

and wearing disposable gloves.
And unless you're going to change gloves every time you need to touch your face or whatever, then you're much better off just washing your hands.

This ^^^
My wife had to pop into B&M the other day, I waited in the car. I saw quite a few people going in and out pushing trollies and wearing gloves. Utterly pointless as they'll no doubt touched stock and shelves and then touched other things spreading germs all over the place. the only way to use gloves effectively is to change them every time you've touched anything.

They have been wanting to privatise the civil service for years looks like they are doing it now under cover of the virusI don’t think it’s correct to say the Cummings saga is a smokescreen but the rest of it is broadly accurate. In normal times I use rubber gloves all the time when at the farm, partly to keep my hands clean but mainly for winter warmth (very thin but they make a huge difference, and act as a wetsuit when handling water. They do tear easily but as long as I wear the "extra large" ones - one size above my normal - I get reasonable use out of them.No idea about masks etc (except there are lots of videos on homemade ones) but I’ve always bought gloves from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008NIRXRY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but I see those are “currently unavailable”. I’m not sure the usual disposable gloves would stand up to scooter riding/extended use, they tear fairly easil.
