Managed to pick up a Magic Arm and 3 super clamps for £85! Just need to splash out on the suction cups now.
Bedworth said:very nice, the arms if your patient you can get some good deals. Its the cups that are expensive part of it
tophatter said:Anyone paid to have a T Piece tensioner fabricated? Just starting to get some quotes in but wondering if around £150 is expensive or if anyone has some good contacts

Yeah was gonna say I had a mate make me one. Was a simple job and didn't take him long at all.
Can you not ask on facebook etc if anyone has access to a welder? I wouldn't be paying £150 tbh!
finally got v1 of the rig up and running today!!

Set it up on my work van as I can clamp directly onto the back and soon realised that my pole was never going to support the magic arm with 5d and 16-35mm along with a fairly heavy Manfrotto 3 way head. So I have to reduce the length of the pole until I was confident it wouldn't snap!
Then I realised at the early hour I was up to head to work I picked up my 5d classic not the MkII and it had next to no battery left!!!
So I managed to get 2 shots before the battery died and this is the best of the 2!
So I need a new (stronger) pole as well as some form of tensioner and some more battery next time I have a play!
