THE PP GAME!

LOL

no additives in the PPd shots read the rules

LOL Well we're completely derailed already then because the winner of the last round had a whole lawn added. :D

I actually just painted the grey area green so personally I would not consider that to be a lawn added.:)

I'll have a go as well, would have preferred a raw rather than dng

Can I just ask has this image already had PP?

I always convert to dngs.....just a personal preference.

No, no PP.

see, the thread is already starting to fail!!

just allow editing with whatever method/additions you want but keep it serious?!

look at the other thread of my "mansion on fire" - if you think that was easy or stupid PPing then theres not much more to say!

Oh - and Giraffe - that edit is awesome. Properly looks like Half Life 3 Engine graphics or some new computer game there...

Here is my attempt.
I imported into ACR then saved 3 copies at -2, 0, +2, exposure.
I then imported into Oloneo to convert it into an HDR.
This was then exported back into Photoshop where I cloned out the caravan and wires I also adjusted the saturation and di a little dodging and burning.
Finally I sharpened the image with LAB sharpening.

Open in camera Raw hit auto button and save as a TIF.
Open in Paint shop pro
Clarify
Duplicate layer, blend mode to multiply
Delite parts of layer around pumps, and dark areas.
Dodge / burn
Clone out caravan, phone wires and lamp post
Unsharp mask

Loving that Paul. Great looking edit.

Fantastic old place! OK, I tried to give it the feeling of a painting, to which end I brightened the image and added contrast overall.

Increased colour saturation overall, then selectively increased saturation in a few key areas to exaggerate the colour - that's about it - nothing complicated at all.

I drive past this place quite often, keep threatening to stop off and take a few shots. Liking these edits :)

I think you have a point, but your first sentence was quite childish:shrug:

I think we should be able to do whatever we want too, as long as its in the spirit of the thread (if that spirit hasnt been crushed by nay-sayers yet) This will add some variety in the edits. I also think we should vote for winners too.

Anyway, i'll take my pills and shut up now:bonk:

Here are the entries so far ....see a theme going on.......there's two here that are in the running so far :)

Giraffe...Personally I think that its a cracker, mate. Not sure where it fits in according to 'the rules of engagement' on this thread. I'm sure the 'ThreadHead' will put you straight. And of course you haven't given up your Layer list or description on how you done it! You may be in for a disqualification! But I like it alot. Good one:thumbs:

Can I throw something into the mix here? What if I offer a prize for what I consider to be the best pic...........a FREE print of what "I" think is the best processing of the image (up to 12x8 inches or all points in between) So I hope you have all kept your files.....
Give me your best shot

Didn't realise I had to put in a layer list, I'll do it tomorrow if needs be

Really liked the pic although its a bit distorted. so decided to give it a bit of motion. Just general adjustments to my liking then selection, blur and dizzyness.

Cracker...or disqualified...

Definite cracker.

Different & not silly determines it stays :)

Rules amended as the thread gets more popular:

The Decider (previous PP king) must choose a Winner and runner up. The crowned king will have 24hrs to post their image, failure to do so means the game is automatically passed down to the runner up where he/she must then assume responsibility to continue gaming.

"Risky editing" will be determined by the jury of the forum. This jury consists of the next 7 votes (or decision made by PP king if time runs out) and the major majority of votes determine whether borderline edits stay in the game.

Adding to improve the image is allowed, this does not include foreign objects that clearly do not belong, or improve an image's presentation.

Started with a crop to remove caravan, then cloned out the obvious wires. Noticed a bright gap in the clouds (top right), cloned that out.

Then made a duplicate layer and used topaz labs 'adjust' pre-set 'dark night', setting opacity to 70%. Created a curves clipping mask to correct highlights/shadows. Duplicated layer for sharpening. Sharpened to more than my usual taste to make the detail come alive (270% @ 2.1 radius). Erased the layer in the tyres and clouds. Done.
