Hi Jim & welcome to the game
And what a start and, as Rhodese said, you have shown us some excellent cloning skillsSo hoping you become a regular. Only one little thing is you need to say if you want feedback when the winner is selected but not 'pixel peeping' type of feedback. John
Not doing so well on these so may leave it as the ones so far are way better than I can come up with

added scene from other image into hill

I would love to take more pics but the Pain Consultant changed my medication in July & that was the last time I took a camera outBut the good news is that the terrible pain I have been suffering has become bearable but the downside is feeling permanently drugged. Sodding side effects.

And you've done a nice bit of cloning![]()
I consequently had a short session in the garden, with the missus propping me up so that I could get an angle on a tree surgeon who was pollarding our cherry trees. Much like Helen, thought there wasn't much to be done to these.... so tried to just enhance what was there already...

Hello John,
I sort of know where you are coming from. I hadnt taken any pictures since August, because of the failure of my X10 (the shutter release fell to bits). Then the autumn arrival of my old friend Arthur, Arthur Rightus he always slows me down.
Then a new X20 came my way.I consequently had a short session in the garden, with the missus propping me up so that I could get an angle on a tree surgeon who was pollarding our cherry trees.
(See the X camera thread.)
Since then I keep promising myself Ill get the rollator out and get round to the local park. Then reality hits, so its back to my computer and the PP game.
Ah well, it could be worse I suppose. My old dad used to say theres a few down the cemetery that wished they had my aches and pains.
Onwards and upwards then and heres to swimming with bow legged women.
I agree with your Old Dad - er I think I do
Well you asked for it so.....
Not proud of it

I'm just very pleased to see you entering even though it took me getting on my knees & begging you & along with Cathy's gentle nudge![]()

Please remove this post if it is inappropriate in this thread. I just had a little play with the park image, NOT as a contender. The thing is that in the days of yore when I first had a go with PS, there was a technique called dodging and burning but it was more akin to painting contrast. It entailed creating a layer above an image, filling it with 50% grey and changing the blending mode to “soft light” (the grey layer becomes invisible). Then using the brush tool, set a low opacity and a very low flow, set the background to white and the foreground to black. Then paint in the grey layer. Black to darken and white to lighten, slowly “very slowly” building up an overlay. The effect could be quite dramatic, and in some cases, the only alteration needed. Apart from cloning, it is the only application applied here. Works well on B&W. If I have been presumptuous then I apologise. I thought it might be worth sharing. The overlay..... Rhodese.

Liked the flowers, so added more![]()
lol wish this was now my official entry, just did this for fun, ...a change of season
