Laura trott just had a cracking elimination race in the omnomnomnomnium. even had time to wave to the crowd as she crossed the line, she looked like she was going to be eliminated halfway through the race
btw.. omnomnomnomnomium, love it![]()
So pleased with the team gold in jumping .... so fantastic to see the team win gold. Excellent!
the way she just jammed it through the middle of the pack was incredible.....

What a fantastic setting too - National Maritime Museum, Queen's House, etc, etc. Whoever worked out the setup at Greenwich knows a thing or two - http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2012/7/31/1343741398703/12.jpg
On telly you could just see Cutty Sark's masts behind the stand on the left.
Yes - best setting for a jumping arena I've seen.

The girls will nail it in the velodrome (Laura T & Victoria P) - come on girls!!
That's half the point of the games, "Hey world look what we have to offer in London, come and visit sometime " I didn't see much of the marathon, but expect the route was past nearly every iconic London landmark .
At last its Beth the Medal at the olympics![]()

On a slightly serious note though, I can understand why businesses in central london have been shocked by the fall in business when they were expecting an increase, so I hope for their sakes, the 'legacy' is even more visitors in the future. Many small businesses collapsed when congestion charging was brought in, it would be very unfair if the Olympics, an event paid for in no small part by Londoners, was the cause of even more of them losing their business/jobs. In fairness to the organisers though, they have certainly used the event to showcase the country, not just around London, but over at Eton Dorny and Weymouth, Lee Valley, all are looking fantastic and are a great advert for getting people to visit the country
Yorkshire 11th in Olympic medal table. 4 golds - Ennis, Clancy, Triggs-Hodge and Copeland - Silver for Wilson, and Bronze for Armitstead and Clancy (again) - puts god's own county above Japan, South Africa and Australia! And there's the Brownlees to come in the Triathlon too!![]()

Guess they must not have any leeway in the way the rules worded![]()

It was a tough call over Pendleton, but the ICU did warn all nations that they were going to be very strict with the rules at these games..
