I came across this one, some years ago (but still funny)

Father Murphy brought a donkey and entered it in a local race. It nearly won, and the local paper reported "Father Murphy's ass shows promise"
The next time it won, and the paper reported "Father Murphy's ass out in frount"
The next time it faded and the paper reported "Father Murphy's ass back in place"
Then the bishop stepped in....

Anyway, there was the old lady travelling on the racing special and commented "Young man, I know you are upset, but that was a very kind thing to do - you put your shirt on the back of that poor bleeding horse that got scratched!"
