ThanksOverkill for me and my X30 I think. I'm going to give the Compact Light a go methinks.

My Ultrapod II easily copes with my Sony RX10 so is more than enough for a Fuji X?0. I've added a 25mm Arca clamp to mine plus a 25mm plate on the X30 ( and 38mm plate on the RX10) so it's faster to use. The official QR for the Ultrapod is not very nice in comparison.....I like the look of those ultrapods. Are they actually any good? Can't decide on ultrpod 2 or ultrapod go. Go looks better but 2 is more expensive lol
I love monopods, and walking, so this sounded like a great idea. It appears they no longer sell them, however. There are some alternatives, that I'll be investigating. No but I have a brasher walking pole that doubles as a monopod.
Any cheap 3mm remote release or one with a micro usb will work just as well. You can even get one with timers. The Fuji Remote Release RR-90 is a good price on Amazon at the moment:

Any specific recommendation Terry?
Thanks,

Interesting. Did a search after reading this and found someone on the DP Review says a Canon RS-60 E3 works perfectly, is better made than most cheap eBay copies and much cheaper than the fuji branded one. This was for an XT1 but assume would also work with the X30?. Half the price of the Fuji one on Amazon.

But there are plenty of non OEM versions of this, including the Ex-pro for £5.97 delivered. I've used Ex-pro chargers and batteries in the past and also now have an Ex-pro battery and charger for my X30. I've been happy with them so might go with them again.
Thanks for saving me over £20!![]()
A couple of shots taken on on last night's caving trip.
Victory Passage in St Cuthberts Swallet is a fairly strenuous trip, so the big camera got ditched in favour of the X30 and a minimal set of lights.
I wanted to have a go at mixing two very different styles of cave photography - the classic back-lit shot with flash and lit up like a show cave with continuous lighting.
The clash of styles probably means they are going to to be a bit Marmite.
Love to hear your thoughts!
Both are 1/5s hand-held - only one of the 10 shots I took has any blur.
Can't fault the IS on the X30 - it's brilliant!

Cheers TerryI like them, however I would like to see the foreground darker in no2 ( or the light a little less frontal )
The 3/4 side light in no 1 gives far greater depth.
No chance for me though... walking under a railway arch is enough of an adventure for me.

Some more from my recent trip to Marrakech with the X10. I used the camera in video mode - not altogether very successfully as it had trouble locking on to anything in the low light - but I've added some stills and a bit of soundtrack so you'll maybe get a bit of the atmosphere. This is in the Jemaa El Fnaa square in central Marrakech on a Friday evening.
In the evenings the square becomes crowded, with Chleuh dancing-boys (it would be against custom for girls to provide such entertainment), story-tellers (telling their tales in Berber or Arabic, to an audience of locals), magicians, and peddlers of traditional medicines. As darkness falls, the square fills with dozens of food-stalls as the number of people on the square peaks.
WOW!!!!Took a couple of photos on the X30 of the Autumn trees.......
Must say i'm loving my x30. Several times now i've gone out for the day with my canon dslr and ended up putting it back in the bag in favour of the fuji!
[QUOTE="jonbeeza, post: 7111650, member: 4932That is like being offered a prime steak and all the trimmings .choosing tripe and onions

Thank you - to be honest I find having the X30 inspires me to shoot more - Love it
