I've tried the X10 in JPEG+RAW mode and I can get better results with RAW but the improvement is minimal and IMO not worth the trouble. Because of this I've never tried RAW with my XF1 but from what's said here, it may be worth a try. However Most people find that the X10 is an exception, due to its strange sensor ... few have been able to improve on the Jpegs which are exceptional.
This is not true on either the XF1 or the X20 which both produce excellent jpegs, as we have all seen... but their raws can be even better.

Thanks guys!
I don't see it at that price John? But yes, I'd highly recommend it![]()
... I can make distinctly better A3+ prints from both cameras when the files have been shot in the RAW format (then converted to DNG) and processed correctly using either Lightroom or Photoshop. I cannot pass comment on the X10 as I've never had one or any images from one to work on.
Hope this helps.
I pleased to see this is one of the busy threads on TP and it's ages since I posted anything here so I'll make amends now!

Getting a bit ahead of myself, but is it possible to use one of those auto opening lens caps with a filter ? From what I've read it doesn't seem you can as the filter adapter ring would compromise the function of these caps.
It’s nice to see you back.
Them be a decent set Jim.
Jim, on the right in the first one, low centre-edge, is that one of those intergalactic scout raiders from the planet Zog? It looks like it's ether entering or coming out of,"Invisibility cloak mode.".
