LOL - Absolutely Right!
Although the number and quality of images LindsayD posts on her blog from each visit cannot be fudged and demonstrates there are gifted photographers which this generalisation does not apply!
Over on the big boys thread, they're getting excited about the possibility of a X200 in September. I have mixed thoughts on the possibility of an imminent X20; on the one hand Fuji has had to invest a lot to fix the orbs problem and may want to recoup that investment first, OTOH they may want to move on to a new camera ASAP, to get the PR disaster behind them.
Anyway, the time to start making noises about what you'd like in a new camera is not when it's two months away; it's done and pretty much dusted by then. So, on the off-chance that Fuji marketing guys and engineers ever read this thread, what would we like to see in an update to the X10? Of course, it's natural to ask the earth, so to keep us real I think we should say how much more we would be prepared to pay at launch over the X10 launch price for our desired feature. Or what could be dropped, perhaps.
For me, the thing that would really perk up my GAS would be adding a version of the X100/XPro1 hybrid finder. I don't care about the EVF bit; what I want is better information in the finder. Hey, even my Pentax ME shows me the shutter speed in the finder! I would pay 5% extra for that feature (but without it I doubt I'd bother)...
I'd hope they'd sort out some of the basic ergonomic gripes for nothing extra, of course.
I think I'd quite like a GPS capability, but then again I'd like better battery life too. Neither important enough to pay much for, though.
Good post!

I'm expecting the X20 to follow very soon.
As fast as Fuji can throw together a light makeover so they can avoid pointing out Orbs as a difference between the models.
It would also mean there is less need for a "how do I tell what sensor" test.
I know from my website stats that a lot of Japanese people read this thread; so I wouldn't be at all surprised if Fuji pop in here from time to time.
What would I like to see on the X20?
In no particular order
- Rubber thumb grip that does not fall off.
- Slightly improved AF. It's not the fastest and sometimes it misses spectacularly! Canon offers a configurable choice between accuracy and speed.
- Improved battery life - probably means using a bigger battery.
- Sort out manual focus; it is pretty much unusable at the moment!
- Bulb mode; first press opens, second press closes.
- RGB histogram
- Live view display without the grey bar obliterating the bottom of the image. Either remove the grey or shrink the image fractionally to allow space.
- Not bothered about the viewfinder; it's fit for purpose and miles better than the competition.
- The rotating ring on the back of the X10 makes it impossible to hand the X10 to someone without them changing the viewed image! It is way too sensitive and there is no need to it to duplicate the left/right buttons inside the ring. Needs a bit of a rethink.
- Super macro should be progressive as 28mm is so close that shadows are a serious problem. Be nice to move back slightly and zoom slightly.
- Built in ND filter (like the G12)
- Don't make the replacement physically bigger!
Phew....
I don't want much do I! :bonk:
