Has that price gone up?
$119.98 + $12.99 postage
Makes the official Fuji item look a bit of a bargain.
What have I missed?
Post #1 updatedHmm - looks like it has. Now £85 inc delivery on ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/X10C-UK-K..._Camera_Cases_Bags_Covers&hash=item2572b0e9b2).
Still it's cheaper than the rolls royce of holders - the Gariz case at £123.05 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-GARIZ..._Camera_Cases_Bags_Covers&hash=item3a763d826b)
Well, I have lurked around this forum since it began, ummed and arred about many of the issues, cases, batteries, orbs. Ive always like rangefinders(I know the Xs arent), had a few over the last 50 years or so, thought the X100 looked the biz, then came the 10, then there was talk about a proper job coming soon the X1 but nobody said it would be 2k ish. So the top and bottom of it is, an X10 arrived today with case and cards and batteries and a hood from Park Cameras (Used them a lot, I trust em).I ordered yesterday afternoon it arrived midday today. All I can say is WOW the only con after a couple of hours use is Theres no wind on lever, to give that sensation of snatching the next shot. but a great feel non the less.
Well I've decided I'm going to get an X10 after reading this thread for a while.
I've just got to sell my Sony NEX C3 and I'm also getting rid of my Canon 24-105 because I don't use it.
The X10 will be my new general zoom camera.
Can't wait now![]()

try each way to see what suits you.Nice punchy pair of B&Ws!Hi I have been subscribed to this thread a while enjoying it contents and friendly users.
I too am enjoying my x10. I have my box awaiting return to Fuji for new sensor.
I have been waiting to see what others have been saying about the new sensor as although i have had a few orbs they did not spoil my images.
I look forward to following the thread and learning from it hoping to produce the quality I have seen here

I carry a wrist strap in my camera case - just in case I need the extra security.are there any X10 users using a wrist strap? I took the strap off whilst on a walk about with the camera last night ( a few test shots on Flickr, nothing amazing, the light was so grey and flat in Aberdeen for a change) as I wasn't really feeling it, and wondered how much better a wrist strap would be?
cheers
Gordy straps are seemingly highly rated on another popular forum which shall not be mentioned![]()

OMGDo you really want to look like a poser
Here in Devon no one wears designer gear not like some parts of the country - Essex maybeBut not sure about Aberdeen - is it posh there
PS I had thought about using a Tesco recycle bag to save buying a proper case but I relented to get a Lowepro

@trevorbray nice - is that the pro focus blur the background super whizzo function?! (I like that one)
I'm a bit confused with the image quality settings on the x10.
I'm sure I read somewhere that the x10 produces better quality images if the camera is set to produce medium quality images as opposed to fine quality images and the EXR processor is left to process what is in effect 2 x medium sized images into a better overall picture.
Is this true?
If so in what camera modes does this apply ( P, S, A, M and EXR )?
And finally does this hold true for both JPG and RAW files?
The manual isn't too clear on this.

How long does the return sensor replacement box normally take as I phoned up tuesday and its being sent to work but nothing yet.
Andy
It is not clear because it is not a simple yes no situation
The EXR sensor functions in differing ways to suit the differing needs. and it can do this fully automatically or by setting a "priority".
The Large Fine setting supposes that all the light receptors work individually.
However the Sensor is perfectly able to combine pairs of receptors to obtain less noise and higher ISO, or a greater Dynamic range, or select single for a higher resolution.
To do the first two, (which pairs up receptors) there is obviously only half the number of combined combined pixels available, hence EXR sets "Medium"
The single receptors are the norm in "Large Fine" setting.
It is true that in EXR mode you abrogate many choices to the Sensor firmware. However it does work and it can help.
I leave mine to " Large fine" all the time. When appropriate the camera will automatically change it to "medium" Unless I set "A.S or M" and a fixed ISO.
I think that is clear as mud......![]()
Thanks Terry - so are you saying that in A, S or M mode if I have it on auto ISO will automatically drop into "EXR mode"? If I fix ISO it overrides EXR?
sorry for newbie questions.....

Well I thought I would update my situation with my sensor repair....
Over a month since I sent it in, I discover today they have recently sent my camera to another customer and are trying to get it back! Not happy. Manager has offered to send me a spare unit while they get mine back which I have accepted seeing as I have no camera, but it will not be the end for me. Very disappointed with service so far.
I like the fishing shots - I miss my carp fishing living up here in the frozen North![]()
