I wonder how many are returns because of the "Orb" issue?.
Must admit that occurred to me too.
They won't be getting mine back
Orbs were in my mind last weekend.
I was shooting an indoor festival and was deciding what kit strategy to use.
My solution relied on the X10 producing ALL the wide shots.
- 70-200 f4 IS on a 60D (shot 1314 images)
- 50mm f1.4 on a 5DII (shot 408 images)
- X10 (shot 306 images)
The long lens was used mostly for performers, which for an indoor festival represents the best photo opportunities.
It turned out the f1.4 on the 5DII was a good move as it was often so dark that I was getting unacceptable motion blur even at f1.4 and ISO 800 :|
I haven't processed my images yet; but the X10 images look pretty good.
Panorama mode was REALLY useful; got shots no one else was able to take.
I'll share some piccies later.
Only niggle I found was shooting in manual exposure, the screen does not provide any form of exposure simulation. So winding the shutter speed from slowest to fastest makes no difference to what appears on the screen. I know the meter on the left works OK, but the whole point of using manual was that the performers were over exposing even with -2ev compensation and I wanted to set the exposure for the performers. I ended up taking shots and chimping until the exposure looked right, which is a horrible way to set exposure. :bang:
Does anyone know how to turn on exposure simulation in manual exposure?
