The Official Fuji X Pro 1 Thread

When I bought my first XP, I had an X10 to sell. They looked very similar, to the untrained eye...........

I think these cameras are real bargains right now.
When I tried to sell mine (lack of use) no-one was interested, even though for kit, including 35 and 18,
metabones adapter for nikon, and various accessories, spare batteries etc I was asking only £550.
Some of the bay prices for these are give-aways.

I feel if this eBay one is genuine then its a steal really

wow some of the BIN prices are ridiculously low :) it looks like a good time to get one for xmas:)
But probably be even cheaper in new year !

Very chuffed £295 all in!
Just need to save up for lenses now....

I paid £329 for myU.K. XF18-135mm ois WR brand new a couple of weeks ago at that time less than s/h a good all rounder but I guess it will depend on your budget.
Then again there is always the adapter rings that you could get to use with any lenses you may already have from your past/present camera system :)

I like the idea of using legacy lenses too

Ok, I have trolled through most of the chat here, so I don't think it's mentioned.
Can anyone tell me I were to purchase Fuji xt10 mirrorless would I be able to use my Nikon lens, if so how would they perform attached.
Thanks..

Yes - with the right adapter*. It would be manual focus and manual aperture.

* you're now going to ask which is the right adapter, but you'll have to be less shy about which lens it is to get a useful answer.

Wow, that's a fantastic price! Congrats... It is tempting to buy one, just because they're just so low priced at the moment, and I can only see them getting lower when the XP2 finally comes along and all the XP1 fans abandon it! :D

TBH I thought long and hard about the new camera and after having the XT1 I sold it for a X100T I really liked something about the images I looked at from my XPro1 days

Thanks guys. Looking at the new price with kit lens it might well be fine as a second camera, with the option of using 70-200 with adapter...

Ha! I left the house at 10am and just got back, what a great set of posts to read all at once, congrats to all you new and returning Pro1 users :)

And remember, RE the other half.... ALWAYS better to beg forgiveness than plead permission ;)

It's quite sunny here, and we just dropped the sprog off at nursery so I might go and take some snaps, with my XP of course!

I do have just over £400 saved upon cash so its not out of the house budget.
Not much money left for lenses though

It's worth checking out the Classified here:)

Mine came with 3 Fuji batteries and Fuji grip. Taking the cost of 2 batteries and the grip off, the camera cost me very little.
Lots of bargain xp's out there now, but I haven't seen any Fuji refurbished about for quite a while.
I just need to build my lens collection up a bit and I a. Seriously thinking about selling my FF Nikon. It's a monster compared to the XP

Me to too lol i can see the used market filling up with large heavy kits of 2nd hand Dslr kits

Huge bargains now and with the choice of lenses available they do make an excellent choice. I think Fuji would be daft to stray too far from the original with the XP2, but need to do something about that damned diopter and put an adjustment on it. That really is an achilles heel for a lot of people.

Don't forget you guys about shooting with the optical viewfinder and changing the magnification... a new trick I've just learnt after 2 and a half years with the damned camera ;) :D

The trick I recently learned?

In MF mode (where my XP lives) when using the OVF, if you press the scroll wheel in, it immediately* swaps to the magnified EVF view with focus peaking** the part of the view it magnifies, is the part where you've set the focus box

This is very handy for OVF users, especially with a legacy lens!

*as immediately as the Pro does anything :)
**If you've set focus peaking to be active in the menu

I saved my Fuji +2 diopter from my last XP, works perfectly for me. When I bought it, delivery was delayed so I found another at a local camera shop, so I have two. Do I sell it or buy another XP..................

And I think if you scroll the wheel it zooms in again - well at least it does with Fuji lenses. ;)

Clever thing this XP-1 is considering it's age! :D

Still I am happy !
Thats all that matters Mark :)
I just love searching out good deals ! Bl:(:(dy sad:( old *art I suppose time i was:lock: up
