Day 1
Two teenage grandkids staying for a "few" days :bat::banghead:

my stepdaughter finished her exams about 2 weeks ago... been driving me up the wall since.. and now the 9 year old finishes wednesday..

Being as im still pretty much hosuebound i cant even escape.... god help me !

Anything that keeps the school run mental mums off the road is fine by me.

yeah but instead they are out and about at all times of the day running there precious little snowflakes back and forth everywhere

Exactly! And during that time I'm safely ensconced in my air conditioned office.
By the time I commute home they're either back home or scoffin their fish and chips miles from me on a beach somewhere.
Perfick :-)

That's because they're all down here!

When I was of school age, it used to annoy me that within the first week of the summer holiday, all of the shops in the high street changed their window displays to show stuff for school (uniforms, bags, protractors, etc.) and put up a "Back to School" sign.

Steve.

Who cares about the roads, where ever you go for the next 6 weeks it will be full of fed up parents and screaming kids running riot
everyday of the week, unless it's raining :(

Already doing it here, and some schools don't even finish until Wednesday lol.

I went to my local Tesco today - - - - "BACK TO SCHOOL" right in front of the entrance! The kids broke up on Friday!!!

When I was school age, shops weren't even on the agenda. :)

Make the most of the "Back to School" signs before the kids are even off. When they come down the christmas stuff will start coming out :banghead:

Get out. Just....get out.

My regular late morning dog walk has gone from being meeting no one but other dog walkers, to an area full of harrassed looking mums trying to get the kids to sit down and eat the picnic, not throw themselves in the brook and a plethora of small bikes, trikes and scooters whizzing around. The dogs have taken to doing most of their walking in the undergrowth where the scooters can get to and us keeping an eye on the two Labs we are currently dog sitting for who DO throw themselves in the brook, making sure they don't go and shake all over little Timmy's sparkly white t-shirt and shorts  Mind you, one mum the other day, with her son who was maybe 5 or 6, saw the wet dogs and laughed, telling us that her boy usually leaves there looking pretty much the same, as he insisted on going sitting in the water. She has taken to wearing shorts and flipflops so she could go in with him. [its a very shallow stream at this time of year btw with a gravel bottom, though god knows whats in the clear looking water, although it hasn't ever done the dogs any harm yet and we have often seen kids playing in it which I actually rather like, it's exactly what we used to do before the invention of computers and games consoles]

you miserable bunch of gits ,

I love the school holidays. My journey to work only takes about 4 minutes instead of the 7 minutes it usually takes during term time.

It won't be Christmas stuff, they'll be selling stuff to celebrate my birthday at the end of October. ;)

Same here some days. Although even quicker than 3 minutes when I trip over my own feet and slide down the stairs on my bum as I did this morning

My older son has been at finished at college for the past 3 weeks and the little one is home educated so I have 2 around right now - but I'm one of those "strange" Mums that actually enjoys having my kids around ;)
