The official Chr*****s 2014 Bah Humbug Thread

Oi :bat: this is the Bah! Humbug! thread,
not how to hang your decorations up thread :p

Even bah humbuggers can be helpful! I'm sure Mike is only doing it for the kids.

I have a new word and facial expression which I use when ventriloquizing (I can't do "M"s!) - Sniling. A cross between a smile and a snarl, similar to a rictus grin but with a little more menace. Means I can abuse children verbally without ny lits noving so they can't be sure it's me!

Ok Folks, its actually Christmas now so we can all be festive and jolly if we like and wish each other Merry Christmas.

Im just looking forward to no more adverts for christmas tat on the radio come saturday. Bliss.

Merry Christmas all.

Sorry....Still wrong thread. :bat:

What little needed sorting for christmas is now sorted so can sit back and pretend it's not happening for today! Mrs Nod has finished up for a few days and was home shortly after 9. Managed to get the token gifts wrapped and boxed while she was at work.

And I bet all you grumpy ass's get Xmas presents and look forward to those :D

As already said, today and the next 2 or 3 days I can stand, just, its the past 6 weeks of it that gets on yer tits.

Just think, no more pretentious fragrance adverts, every other one, on telly very soon! They'll be replaced by holiday ones. And the "come and buy the sh*t we couldn't shift during the year" sales.

No....honestly. It's all of it.

What's not to like?

I could ask what IS to like?
My real question is, why when you say you simply don't like, celebrate or exchange gifts at Christmas do people question it?

Was utterly bored with the Xmas thing since the supermarkets started in October.

Arrived in Dublin yesterday morning after a comfy drive to Fishguard and a cabin to get my head down. Then a gentle journey up to Dublin, and on getting to my daughter's house it started to feel like Xmas. Simply being with my grandkids who had helped dress the tree the night before. I sneaked my presents for them under the tree while they were chasing around. It's still quiet in the house and I am enjoying a pot of tea.

So bah humbug to the whole of the commercial side of the festive shi* This, for me is real. Got it all again when I get back with my eldest son and his mob. They are having Xmas with his in laws....

In all this few days is my Xmas.

I will come alive on Nw Years Eve...... Photoshoot with a hangover morning after.... bliss

Sod the sales....

Eastter eggs very soon....

Steve

For me there's lots to like.
I like the xmas tree,
I like buying and receiving gifts,
I like to watch my grandkids getting excited,
I like my Christmas dinner,
I like hearing Christmas songs (well, most of them),
I like getting a few days off work,

If I didn't like any of the above, I would quietly get on with my life. No need for moaning and whinging, and bah humbug avatars etc:p

Merry Christmas everybody:)

Ah I see.
So in all seriousness, it's ok for the entire planet to go mental being pro Christmas, have festive avatars etc....but those of us who disagree should sit quietly in our corners?
Gosh....thank you!

As for the above list:
I find a tree in the house daft. Yes there's one up but only at the insistence of OH and its the only decoration.
I would rather give or receive a gift on a day it's not expected and is a genuine and unexpected surprise.
I no longer have a child. ..and no grandchildren but yes...kids love it, that's a given.
I like a nice roast dinner but can have one on any given day.
I loathe Christmas songs.
I like time off work but have volunteered to cover for others so they can do as they wish with their Christmas.

So if it's ok with you I'll continue to express my dislike of the Hallmark holiday...especially in the confines of the HUMBUG thread :p
