Yes
Yes folks, fireworks night is over, all the retail emporiums across the country will be digging out their tape loops of Slade, Wizzard, Johnny Mathis, John Lennon et al and driving you potty for the next 8 weeks. Its great isnt it. I really dont envy people who have to work in these shops 8 hours a day.

Fellow humbugs (or normal people as I prefer) unite!

Don't watch the telly tonight then.
Bloody John Lewis ad starts today.

In case some of you don`t know, I bloody hate Christmas nearly as much as I loathe New Years eve.

I am with you on this thread. Some yewars ago I came up with the idea of humbug holidays where like minded people could take over a hotel where we could remain in a crapmas free state. I even went sa far as registering the domain name - sadly something came up and it died a death. This thread could prove to be excellent marketing data. :ty:

I wondered when this years 'Bah Humbug' thread would make an appearance :D

Merry Christmas everyone

:exit:

BAH FECKIN HUMBUG FROM ME!!!!!

I enjoy meeting friends and family but its not christmas as i know it......it is COMMERCIALMAS..... and another way for the corporates to bleed us stupid of our hard earned cash....

Yes folks, fireworks night is over,
I wouldn't be so sure on that, it started 2 weeks ago, here.
I'm sure it has another two weeks to run :(

BTW Keith it is now the official Bah-Humbug thread

I made a thread back in October about seeing people with their trees and decorations already up...pass me a fork to rip my eyes out please.

Much as I hate commercialmas, I will admit to having bought Mrs Nod's seasonal gift this morning. Had to take her with me to choose the colour. Ended up with an electric blue KitchenAid mixer which a local shop has at a decent discount, making the super shiny electric blue one significantly cheaper than John Lewis. AND they had one in stock!

Now the only question is should I let her use it to make the christmas commercialmas cake???

Neither can I but. But a mutual dislike of Christmas and New Year is there. All I need you to say is how much you hate celebrating Birthdays (yours and others) and we can make it a hat trick.

Hat trick it is then Steve.

I also despise valentines day, fathers day and all the other crap "days". Easter, why the hell do people who have no religeous beliefs even get a holiday at easter, waste of bloody time.

To all the haters

Just wait till our profiles get decorated then you'll have even more to moan about :P

God help me but I am in accord with @ST4 and many others re xmas and loads of other 'events'.

I dislike the whole "festive" thing with the company of people being nice for a few hours a year when, in my case, I would not cross the road to p**s on them if they were on fire. I try as much as possible to remain calm, happy and generous with my time all year round.

Had to dive into the enormous Tescos at Shepton Mallet an hour ago and BAM the xmas krap is out for sale..... Peanut M&Ms are my downfall and in a pretty box there are 20grams more tban a bag of them and about 35% dearer. Are people really that daft?

Still I will be tucked away with my new boxed set Blu Ray remastered Thames Television 9 disk "World at War" series when the family have gone home after Xmas Dinner. SWMBO ewil hit the Boxing Day sales and I will be tucked away revisiting a truly btilliant series with Laurence Olivier's voiceover.

When I resurface xmas will be gone. Bah humbug.

The only downside is the boxset will be nagging to be played..... before xmas

I would say yes, once the "happy holiday" fever strikes
