The official (Bah Humbug) Olympics thread

And yet another 1200 squaddies drafted in. That takes us up to 18200 so far...

I genuinely hope the Olympics does well, but it is starting to look like a Brian Rix farce. Ticket buying fiasco's, rocket batteries on tower blocks, proposed Border Agency strikes, and transport chaos in general.

That's not even mentioning G4S and the other shysters and spivs that are involved. Oh... and the latest one I've seen, evidently lots of the foreign welcome signs (particularly the Arabic ones) are totally nonsensical to the native spreakers of the language.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least,
Oh well, just over 4 weeks, and it'll all be over

This should be interesting - the average british squadies 'personal skills' arent really best suited to policing a bunch of civilians many of whom will be privilledged and/or foreign - and once they've been to the sponsors bar probably half cut on champagne

I'm not knocking the armed forces , the humble british squaddie is amongst the best soilders in the world - but atttrributes that are great when it comes to kicking talitubbie arse in the afghan, are rather less so when explaining tactfully to mr 'dont you know who I am' that he's not able to take his bottle of water into the event.

It's times like this I'm reminded how good it is not to have a TV.

I am developing an urge to find the **** who came up with Team GB and scoop their brains out with a spoon,it's Great Britain you *****.

Not that I'm going to be watching much

After yesterday they should fly our flag upside down
Thats a sign of distress isnt it

The only good thing with this whole sorry Lympics business is that all the sporting types will be sitting at home in front of the tele drinking lager and not out and about cluttering the place up, it'll be like cup final day that lasts a fortnight.

Really pleased the 2 churches by me didnt ring their bells for the limpdicks start neither did the school failure of an idea just like the games

What a shame, I shall be on the Outer Hebrides for the last week or so of the games. How very disappointing..........

Hasn't this finished yet?

I thought it would all be over by now?

I'm sunning myself in the Med for the entire thing ;)

I notice UPS (as one of the sponsors) have just emailed me saying they're surcharging £15 on delivery and pickup during the games in London. Gee good for business how exactly

well it'll be good for ups if they can get the same ammount of business at 15 notes more a pop

Relayed action for Team GB?

hey come on this is good
Its like the euro vision song contest on speed

Well they've finally excelled at putting on the biggest rubbish opening ceremony ever. What a total waste of money. They could have built 2 hospitals with the money they've wasted on this primary school production. I wish they had Terry Wogan presenting it, at least we could have had a proper laugh.:bang::gag:

Rowan Atkinson bit was good. Glad I bothered for that. And Tim Berners Lee was cool. Rest is dismal eurovision pap.

I never bothered watching it.
At least it sounds better than I expected and all that under
over budget but under the contingency, "budget" budget thing wasn't a total waste of money

:D

Really not getting it at all! So is this the part where they individually announce the 200 and something countries?
