I didn't say anything at the TP London Meet on 12th December 2009 but I was awating the results of some tests I had done at my local hospital. My apologies if I seemed a bit quiet/preoccupied.

I have been getting a lot of pain/discomfort in my abdomen/lower part of my back for quite a few months now. Like a typical male had left it.

I had blood test done which turned out fine. I then had a scan of my abdomen which showed a Polyp in my gallbadder. Not only did doctors at hospital put the wind up me because of what they had seen but researching on the internet hadn't helped either. One site even mentioned the cancer word in certain cicumstances.

Saw my GP today and he said the Polyp was benign. So no cancer then.

I'm still getting the discomfort/pain and so will have further tests done on my bowel. The doctor feels if once I see the consultant who specialised in the bowel etc and hopefully if everthing is ok then they will look at things like diet/stress etc. Might be put on tablets etc to help.

I'm not out of the woods yet but the news that the Polyp is benign has left me walking around grinning like a Cheshire Cat!!! Feel the odd tear in the eye.

I'll keep my TP family informed what happens when I see the Bowel consultant.

Did think you were a little on the quiet side on Saturday Clive, put it down to the cold. ;) Glad you've had some good news and hopefully it's the start of the upturn.

Thanks Marc. A real good M8 you are even if you have to put up with the hairdressing thread!

Look forward to seeing you again.

Good to hear the news Clive, here's hoping the additional tests turn out fine.
Obviously as I only met you for the first time at the xmas meet, I was unaware that you were quiet.
We seemed to chat ok so if there is more to the KoG - bring it on at the next meet

Cheers Darren. Really nice to meet you at the Xmas meet. Think the credit card is going to get a hammering shortly!

Blimey Clive , \i had a cancer scare and know how worrying they can be
Fingers crossed the news continues to be good :)

Good news Clive. Looks like things are on the up. A quick "slice n dice" and you'll be as good as new

Just found this thread.
Glad to hear you are clear of the dreaded C.
Mrs Sawman had major surgery 5 years ago & finally got the all clear in August.

I'm glad to hear that its not as serious as it could have been. I hope they get you sorted soon.

Good news but make sure to see a specialist as we don't want it to turn malignant.
If it needs to be removed they can do it via keyhole surgery hopefully (if it still causes you pain).

A bit of an update folks.

Saw the bowel consultant finally last week. He examined me but have to go in to hospital for an examination procedure.

Have to take a very strong laxative the day before! So will probably spend the day in the loo!!!

Because the procedure means I'll have to be sedated, or whatever it is, I'll be in hospital for a fair part of the day. Someone has to bring me home as I wouldn't be allowed to travel on my own.

Not allowed to drive to following day either. Had planned to go out to toast my dad as i would have been his 87th birthday.

And because the procedure is on Saturday 27th March I'll have to miss an AFC Wimbledon home game!!! Gutted of Carshalton!

Be glad when it's all over.

Hi! I hope it all goes ok,

Good luck - hope all goes well. The bowel prep you have to do isn't very pleasant - did you ever read the Picolax thread? It will entertain you for a while if you didn't see it before. I almost wet myself laughing

I'll probably wear the carpet out going to the loo! Thanks Cheryl for your kind wishes.
