The "how would you edit this photo" game.

Well I seem to have not done many of the things I meant to today:lol:

Tried again- how an earth do I darken the sand without changing anything else?

Edit9a by Dr_Ozone, on Flickr

select the sand with the selection brush then use levels - simples

Excellent, thank you:). I thought I had tried that and hadn't worked but think I have so many things going on in the workflow at times that it's easy to try and adjust something that isn't live and then think it isn't working. Tried it and again with an adjustment layer and worked both ways so who knows what I was doing.

I'll get good at this yet:lol:

i use the burn tool for darkening things, although it doesn't always work well

Or open the image in camera raw and use the adjustment tool, reduce the exposure then brush over the sand...if to dark increase exposure

Brilliant- just tried that as well- I'm always overlooking camera raw. You guys are great at this stuff:thumbs:

only 4 entries so far. Wally has bailed, DR-O is 'on it like a car bonnet' and i'm just working on my idea right now at work. Anyone else joining in?

5 days is too long to be editing the same pic :bang: people lose interest and not everyone has ideas etc on every pic. 2 to 3 days max will keep the interest with faster turn arounds. I posted mine on the first day, so I've got 5 days to wait on the next one ....

Just a quickie from me, 2 men and a model boat.

I'll give you that- I mean, what have the Roman's ever done for us? Apart from having no lighthouse, being in a different location, having bigger waves, more prominent cliffs and no long grass or shrubs- these photos are exactly the same:p:lol:

My bad- I should have gone with the docks photo- but some good entries so far...

Plenty of scope for sharks:D

alright alright keep ya hair on :P

Ill admit i was going to do a shipwreck and disaster waves, tsunami and flying badgers etc, but i thought this photo deserved something with a bit more class!!
