Not a bad idea - there's already a website that does that.
Is there?
(Not TP is it?

I think you meant liberal, not libertarian!pretty much - except that i think milliband is a knob, our local candidate a larger one, and that their policies don't add up - and it would be a cold day in hell before i voted for them
the biggest problem in left/right discussions is people conflating authoritarian with right and libertarian with left - this sort of thinking runs into problems with say communist russia which was ver left wing but also highly authoritarian
PMSL doesn't bode well for the country does it?I'm still waiting for any single political party to prove to me that their local door to door representatives can read.
They've all failed so far.
Do you have sign saying 'no canvassers'?I'm still waiting for any single political party to prove to me that their local door to door representatives can read.

I think it's called Vote for Policies or something - I'm sure someone posted a link a few pages back.Is there?

I gave it a whirl for the European elections - it's very good.
tbh I wish all the policies could be published in a simple list form, anonymously numbered 1,2,3,4,5,5....., a month before the election date for folk to study & decide............then at the polling station the voting paper can have the party name next to the numbers!
This is a bit of fun and the results are interesting.
https://voteforpolicies.org.uk/survey/1/select-issues
1) Choose which policies are important to you from:
- Crime
- Democracy
- Economy
- Education
- Environment
- Europe
- Foreign Policy / Defence
- Health / NHS
- Immigration
- Welfare
2) View what each party offers (not knowing which party it is) for each of the policies you have chosen then select your chosen one for each
You then get results for:
You
Your Constituency
Scotland (in my case)
National

Yeah, it's not like any of this meters, is it?I got bored
Urgh. You, sir, have committed a grave crime.Hopefully with an apostrophe before the last s!!
I got bored with that voteforpolicies thing I meant. I know who i'm voting for and I know I don't agree with all of their policies, but that's just the way it is.Yeah, it's not like any of this meters, is it?![]()
How did that happen?!!!
Steve,
I can't argue with that, they are all becoming very samey and "OTT politically correct" for fear of losing ANY votes.IMVHO Labour just don't care, have moved to the right and may very well muck up the economy. Meanwhile the Conservatives have moved a bit to the left
I might vote Conservative for the first time in my life with the hope that they can fix the economy and get into surplus and put some more money into the good things and thus prevent the health service and all of the other goodies from being slowly starved to death.
Hmm, voting Conservative to protect the NHS seems almost an oxymoron...
So yes, I think that voting Conservative might just save the NHS as if some other lot get elected and decide that they're far too nice to balance the books it's only a matter of time before it all comes crashing down and that mess will be a lot worse than the one we're in now. As a Greek.
trouble is conservatives will fix the defecit by privatising the NHS (or doing so by stealth by condeming it to death by a thousand cuts) likewise masacring every other public service, deregulating the economy and s***ting all over both the environment and the working class, whilst providing tax breaks for the rich in order tohelp out their public school mates"attract investment in the economy"
Voting tory to protect public services makes as much sense as voting ukip because you love imigrants
Don't buy this, they were in charge from 79 till 97, yet we still have an nhs.
.
No we don't. because Labour governments shut most of them.don't have very many mines though
look on the positive, we still have coal under good old Blighty. No we don't. because Labour governments shut most of them.

i keep seeing this 'working class' getting screwed by the tories, but if they up the tax band then how are they screwing the working class, given that most of the lowest paid wouldnt pay any tax? If the socialists get in they will up tax on fuel by bringing back the fuel escalator (harperson would rule it out) and tax the low paid, that would hit a lot of people.
as for privatising the NHS, the labour party were in power for long enough, they didnt do much to reverse any changes, do you really think they will again?
