Actually, strike that. Thick fog has just rolled in from the Channel and now it's all misty and murky here at my coastal location, also feeling cold and clammy in the sea breeze.
Still, at least it is staying dry and isn't blowing a hooey for a change.
 
Been blue skies here all day (well, since the early morning fog burned off at about 08:30). Only clouds are long and thin behind shiny metal tubes! Mildly sunburned after forgetting my hat this morning.

:) There may be a repeat performance tonight as fog start to reform and become more widespread across Southern England.
The next few days will keep the dry and settled theme going over the South of the UK while Northern and Western parts tend to become more cloudy and wetter.
There are signs of a change to a generally cooler and unsettled Atlantic-based theme for all of us as we go into the second half of next week but that's me getting ahead of myself again.
 
It was a nice sunset here too this evening from my garden, all be it an intresting cloud formation one. Forecast saying overcast for me Sunday AM :mad:

Nothing too spectacular here. :( I can see the sunset from my "big blue chair" and have cameras ready to grab if it's worth the 1/4 mile walk to the top of the West facing hill. I have literally thousands of sunset shots! Looking forward to a spectacular one to see how the X-Pro1 handles them. :)
 
That's a lovely sunset shot, Kevin, you can't really go wrong with a decent sunset when it comes to taking photographs of them.

Anyway, mornin' all from a clear and very sunny Folkestone, it's gorgeous here and is already starting to feel pleasantly mild in the sunshine thanks to winds coming in from the north west (from inland rather than the Channel).
The next couple or three days will continue the dry and bright theme at least here at the southern half of the UK but it'll tend to be on the breezy side which may make it feel fresh. However, the change to windy and wet weather for all of us is expected to eventually take place by late Thursday or Friday leading to a cool weekend involving sunny spells and showers.
But we're at this time of the year where it wouldn't take a lot for high pressure to build back over us and when that does happen, we'll certainly get to feel the warmth from the sun as it climbs that little bit higher above the horizon on a daily basis. Just hope we haven't peaked with this extended dry spell and that we are no using up all our High Pressure tokens before the Summer!

24° IN here at the moment - only 8.5 outside though! Not a cloud to be seen (even con trails are absent for once!)
 
According to the Bing weather app on Win8's live tile, the weather here in Exeter is "Mostly Cloudy". Pretty sure they'll be getting their info from the Met office which is about a mile away and has the same clear, blue skies overhead!

Hi Chris! Indeed, it is a reminder that it is still "only March", but don't worry, it won't be as rough and stormy as what we had in Autumn and er . . "winter". Warm weather in March and April is still classed as the exception rather than the norm, so with that to mind we have done well with this extended spell of dry weather - which I can imagine is being appreciated by those who has been affected by the recent flooding.
 
Dry is appreciated even by those of us who chose their houses on top of hills to avoid flooding problems! Warm is a nice bonus.

Judging by Chris's recent thread in the zoo area, any shooting is aimed "below the belt" so is unlikely to be painless...

Although I wasn't affected at all by the recent flooding, its nice to have a few dry days at least :)
(Stay of execution granted :D)
 
:D Anything as long as it doesn't involve any tickling.

Incidentally, I have recorded 20.0 C dead on at 2.45 pm here at my coastal location. Even though the sensor is heavily shaded in an east-facing back yard. I did question the reading as it felt cool and fresh indoors, but then I had it on good authority that my readings does tally up.
In which case, I have recorded the warmest day so far this year. It also came with a desert-like 38% humidity values, hence why line washing are getting dried up in a blink of an eye around here.

LATE on Thursday? Drizzle started at about 2pm and it now persisteth down! On the plus side, it'll be refilling the water butts that I drained.

Hehe, considering that was forecast four days ago, I would say it is turning out accurate. Mind you, I'm not expecting the rain to arrive here at Kent until after dark so I am still spot on as far as my own location is concerned.
But indeed, this extended dry spell will come to an aburpt end tonight with the rain (even some snow over hills) and fresh wind as well as the cold showery stuff for tomorrow and over the weekend, along with frost and local fog making a return appearance.
It looks like it won't be until the middle part of next week when the weather may settle down and be dry for longer again.

It is (as the saying goes ) todding sypical! Mrs Nod's car has been in for a little work recently so we've been reduced to extreme comfort and no soft top during the sunshine. Now the rain has set in, we're off to collect it tomorrow!

Mind you, the earlier persistence is now reduced to light drizzle again so we might be able to go topless tomorrow - might need the Irvine jacket though!

It looks like the weakening cold front that had given you the rain for this afternoon has passed over you and skies should start to clear up soon but turning colder in doing so.
In the meantime, that said cold front is yet to arrive here at Kent.
 
Its been hissing down here (well not torrential by any means )
Since early afternoon and is still at it now.
The local forecast is saying a wet week-end too :(
 
Indeed as some of the showers will take on a wintry note over Northern hills over the weekend and yes, the rest of the UK can expect a showery-type weekend but it does look like Southern and Eastern parts may tend to have the best of the sunny spells.
Friday night and Saturday does look to be especially showery with a brisk wind where I cannot rule out the risk of local hail and thunder.
Ironic given today is the first day of the astronomical Spring season, it proves that our weather will do what it likes as it can - and does - get cold and wet at this time of the year where warm spells are still the exception rather than the norm.
Still, I have managed 16 rain-free days and it's still dry at the moment as the rain is now about an hour or two away from here, so mustn't grumble. Hope that's a practice run for summer proper and that wasn't actually our summer!

Well, I took a down filled jacket to collect the car but we bottled out on the topless drive! It's less fun on dual carriageways anyway and by the time we hit town, the drizzle started again anyway. I'm sure there will be plenty of topless days later in the year anyway. (Sun's currently shining but outside temperature's a chilly 6.8°C.)

The local forecast said rain, I woke up to clear blue skies.
Its currently 11oC here, I put a "line" of washing out earlier,
And down came the rain a couple of hours later.
Pulled in said "almost" dry washing.

And now the suns out again :(
But with darkening clouds in the distance.
April showers in March I guess!
 
Hi Chris! Whereas over here at this "sheltered" end of the country, it has been dry and bright, if a little bit breezy, all day after overnight rain gave me 8 mm before that cleared away dead on at 9 am this morning.
However, showers will become quite widespread across the country along with freshening winds as we go into tonight and they could be heavy in places but they should become lighter and more scattered in nature tomorrow and into Sunday with more in the way of sunny spell developing.
But it will stay on the cool side with frost and local fog patches being a regular thing at night time and it'll be on the breezy side over Northern and Western parts.
 
Fairly cold night last night, clear sky's over here, snow has returned to the peaks around Snowdon too. Reading outside 2'c sun is out, for now!!

Saturday turned out quite nice in the end, if not for the cold wind, will a chill factor
of about -20oC (Ok slight exaggeration, but it bloody felt like it!)
Hail showers, giving way to sun and more more hail today (Sunday)

Hi Chris! Very much the same here today where I've been dodging the hail/rain showers when I popped into town on a couple of occasions. Lovely when the sun does come out, though.
There is a risk of widespread frost as well as ice patches across the bulk of the UK tonight, so you will need to keep that to mind when tackling the morning commute first thing tomorrow morning, especially if your route involves those quite country lanes.

A couple of light showers here this morning other than that it's been wall to wall sunshine, been sat in the garden in a tee shirt and it's been comfortable as long as you keep out of the breeze.
That's in South Wales by the way.
 
Afraid so, Chris, as well as becoming more cloudy, damp and perhaps murky for the next two or three days - but rain amounts are likely to be small and winds will be calm for most of the time. Better than stormy winds and torrential rain.

:D Andy, that's the result of you being nearer to a ridge of high pressure trying to push in from the south west, thus there weren't as many showers towards the South West and over Wales today.

We are coming up to the time of the year where the rising sun has more than enough punch to heat up the inside of conservatories and greenhouses, even though it may still feel cold outside. With that to mind, I would hold back on putting out those delicate summer plants for the next few days at least.
 
Very much so, Ian! I've started sowing a few seeds but will be waiting a week or 2 before sowing the runner beans (although I have the empty bog roll tubes all ready for the compost and beans!) Despite a frost this morning, the flowers that the recent warm, sunny weather's prompted into an appearance seem to have survived and continue to grace us with a waft as we pass. Our Camellia seems to have fared better than a neighbour's - ours is protected from the prevailing wind by us and next door but hers is in the gap so the wind can sweep over the garages at it. Having said that, today's wind seems to be coming from the South but next door's conservatory gives a little protection from that (and both our CH boiler flues exit into the gap between our conservatories where the Camellia is).
