Barcelona - Greatest team ever?

No way. Bunch of dirty little cheats. Sergio pretending he got hit in face in 1st half, Alves (and probably a large envelope to ref) getting a player sent off... Hope they go out.

yep, greatest team right now for sure.

and messi, greatest player at the moment most definitely.

His second goal is/was amazing.

Go on Harry, make a cheeky offer and get him to the Lane......

I'm sure Harry could sign him from say the end of May to the end of July......

Just watched Pepe being sent off. Didn't think it was that bad, but thought the behaviour of the Barca players straight afterwards was awful. Not one went to see how their teammate was, they just bombarded the referee to pressure him into pulling out the red card. Shocking behaviour.

I agree

That said - I remeber Beckham, Stam, Keane and Co - chasing refs all over the pitch red in the face with veins bulging. It was far more aggressive than Barca's style but it was more 'heat of the moment'. Barca seem to be almost directed to do so and use it as a tactic.

At least (touch wood) - if United get to the Final they will know what to expect. Knowing the way Barca operate I'm sure they will be looking at getting young Rafael or Fabio sent off as they tend to walk a fine line.

Made me laugh was guadiola in the interview afterwards "The players do not get people sent off, the referee sends peoplee off. the players just want to play football" yeah, chasing the ref round the park does give that impression!

After watching the match Im glad I am a Rugby League fan.

Nobody went to see how he was because they knew he was fine. Unfortunately, that is the Continental game, and the more of those players come to the EPL the more it will happen here.

That 2nd goal from Messi reminded me of a certain other Argentinian playing against England..... His skill is sublime, and he didn't go down in the box when he could have done, he knew he was going to score. Amazing player.

it was pure genius, if you watch it back there was literally just that split second when he could score, any sooner or later and it wouldn't have been a goal, thats the genius part

I know, I've watched it again this morning. Football at its best; let's just hope that he never scores by the "Hand of God".

As a matter of interest, did anybody hear the Interview with Trevor Francis on Talk Sport yesterday ? An amazing insight into what was probably English footballs best spell in Europe and working under Brian Clough - was funny in places too.

But its interesting that the many continental players in the lower leagues dont do the dieing swan every time they are touched, its just the prima donna's in the EPL

That's because it wouldn't go down too well with the non prem players and their managers would probably tear them a new one.

It's not the first time he's scored a goal like that either, and won't be the last. It's also what I think sets him apart from Ronaldo. In the biggest games, on the biggest stage, you can always rely on Messi, whereas Ronaldo very often goes missing.

Real could have 2 more players sent off last night. Adebayour pushing Masch in the face with 2 hands. Also Marcelo who stood on both of Pedro's legs, no attempt to jump over them. :nono:

This^^^

Somebody should point these incidents out to Jose.

So after the comedy of midweek - back to the nitty gritty.

Hoping for a good Spurs performance today !

Thanks, we need it, although I can see another draw coming on....

That bloody clown Gomez AGAIN!

sweet, it's funny, depending on the result tomorrow and the chelsea man u game there is likely to be a lot of blackpool fans on the last day of the season, many of us rooting for them two fold - to stop united winning the league and also to stop them being relegated as they've been a great team for the season this year

So Chelski manage to get given a goal where the ball didn;t cross the line, and another with an offside!

To be fair though, Gomez should have saved the first, so can't grumble too much on that, we do know that he doesn't always have the safest hands.

Never mind, sod all we can do about it now is there.

Swings and roundabouts, swings and roundabouts.

Still it does mean that the whole football technology debate is racked wide open again, doesn't it.

Well that was all fairly 'typical' Chelski - I'd be pretty peeved if I was a Spurs fan.

Still - keeps the UBU's happy for now I guess.

i think it gives us hope at least, not so much makes us happy, it's still a very unlikely outcome that manure will throw it away

Agreed - but it's United's to win, not to throw away.

I've no idea what to expect tomorrow - could be a whole new Arsenal now that the pressure is off them.

Win loose or draw tomorrow - it's the United v Chelsea game that will have the biggest impact on the title.

3 points ahead with a game in hand and 3 games left to play, the title is theirs already, if they don't win it now then they throw it away in my opinion, it's already been won by them during the last few months

But "IF" Manure lose at Arsenal tomorrow (some bloody hope) they have to play Chelski next weekend. That could set up an interesting last couple of games.

However, I would like to see it all done and dusted before the last day so that they may be a bit easy on Blackpool, I don't mind who wins out of the two of them as long as Arsenal keep that 3rd place and Blackpool stay up.

LOL - that's called 'defense mechanism' - No credit due if we win but enjoy it if we don't.

It's far from over. Over the season - the points advantage we have is because we've still our most difficult games left to play.

Golden Rule - It's always won Joe - never thrown away.

If United win it then as you say - they've won it over the last few months.

If Chelsea win it - then they will have had to win it with a fantastic finish to the season.

It's not often I'll say it but was backing Chelsea all the way today! Arsenal are out of the race for 2nd place now so not concerned about Chelsea picking up more points, in fact I'd sooner see them win the title than United. More importantly, I'll be delighted to see Tottenham miss out on a Champions League spot just to deprive them of the happiness they seemed to have got from it this season. Also, anything less than 4th place means to me they've had a worse season than last year which is always nice :D

No ithink if they win they deserve the credit is due from their last few months of play. Of course it is thrown away if they don't win it now. In the same way a team leading 3-0 away then end up 4-3 losers they threw away the win.

Some big fixtures today but the world's eyes will be trained on Colwyn Bay tomorrow for the Evo-Stik Premier play-off final –*the winner to compete in the Blue Square Conference North next season.

Colywn Bay v FC United of Manchester, 2nd May 2011, KO 3pm.

FCUM.
