Where? That's the type of thing that would light up my twitter and I've not seen a peep. There is lots on there pointing out the mistakes Alan Shearer has already made though

I can't find it anywhere. It is entirely possible I dreamt it... or read it on the DM site, which amounts to the same thing.

You want him out after the first game?

You really are an anti-fan aren't you?

Wanted him out last year. We are going backwards and evidence suggests that it's not going to change. While the window is still open, and in theory we could have Rooney and Suarez up front in a couple of weeks, we are still not nearer to adding to a paper thin squad.

Nothing wrong with being critical of your team but fed up with the same old crap year after year, like they way we think we can compete with Chelsea and Manchester.

Great day. Hughes losing to kick us off, I see us win for the first time in I can't remember how long, get back in to see the Arsenal score, hoping Cambsno does not spontaneously combust :-)

Was listening to the commentary, 2nd half sounded like we were all over them. Great that, despite all the big "stars" at the club, it's a youth team player that comes on and scores the winner!

Big game for United and Moyes today.

I'm expecting a period of transition but with Chelsea, City and Liverpool to play in the next few games, we really need the points.

Thanks Mr Wenger.

Nice start to the season, but its what I expected.

We definitely deserved to win, missed two absolute sitters, a Clint Hill header and an Austin miss (keeper may have got a touch in which case great save, but should never have had the chance). They had one great chance Green made a top class save for.

Really enjoyable, lots of positives. O'Neill looked great when he came on, always wanting the ball, clever passes into good areas, could be a terrific (copyright H. Redknapp) signing.

Hoilett's workrate was fantastic - like a new player. Barton was everywhere, great on the ball, great set pieces, great off the ball, made us tick. SWP was good.

Henry was decent, better than I expected \ remembered. Zamora looks like he needs to have his operation.

Ipswich had huge work rate, closing down everyone, they were hard to play against but we managed.

Dunne was, if I'm being generous, was rusty, a couple of horrific moments, but at least he passed it out to feet from the back and made some good tackles. Needs more match-time.

Best thing about today, youth team player Hitchcock coming on, making his debut scoring the winner in the 90th minute - brilliant.

Big game for United and Moyes today.

Well he has certainly started moaning about the fixtures a la Fergie! :) Certainly not the start you'd want, and with Swansea you never know what you are going to get. Going to be interesting, and if it starts badly be interesting to see how much patience fans have - Edit I see RVP has scored!

And Welbeck has equalled last years tally already. ;)

It also helps when you have van Persie up front.

Same old Utd so far, been under pressure, but winning. Come on Swansea. :D

van Persie scoring is good for my FF team at least. ;)

I just hope we finish with 11 players on the park a clean sheet and a run out for Rooney

O's stay top of div one with another win, only another 42 points to be safe from the drop

Avid Arsenal fan here
I'm sick of 7 years of bare trophy cabinet embarrassment
Wegner must go

And yes, I have been to Highbury and the Emirates !!!

Rooney coming on could be funny.

Well if as we are lead to believe he's going nowhere the sooner he's back in the fold and sharpened up the better

Arsenal fan here. Not fussed.

The last time we lost the first game of the season we finished 2nd overall. You can't judge a season by the first game. You can barely start to judge a season at Christmas.

If we have a worse first 10 games than last year I'll be concerned but until then I'm not going to join the dissenting voices that is absolutely ruining the support of the club.

My boss has been unbearable already - thankfully he is on holiday next week so I won't need to hear about it - but yes great start - can you keep it going?

Welbeck doubled his number of goals for last season in one game.

A good win by Utd. Swansea were dominant for the first half hour, but the two quick goals took the wind out of their sails.

Just goes to show you can play all the "pretty" football you like but there's no point if it stops in the final third of the park

I was there today Simon, and I have to say we were the better team in the first half. And, I know it sounds like sour grapes, but I have never seen such a poor display by a referee in the EPL, he truly was awful.

The injury to Gibbs seemed to upset our balance and in the 2nd half we really didn't show our potential. I said it every game last year, and I'll say it again, Giroud is a Championship grade striker. He's slow, has a poor first touch (and worse second) and can't hold up the ball. TR7 was our best player today.

However, it's difficult to play 10 against 11, but 10 against 12 just won't work.

Oh the old x years without a trophy. Some EPL clubs have gone 50 years without silverware.

There are 4 cups to win in a season, Only 1 club can take the league title, and as much as I really want Arsenal to be top dog again, when I look at the budget of some of the other clubs I think we do well to finish where we do.

You have to face the fact that other clubs are bigger than Arsenal in the money stakes, as long as we finish above Spuds I'll be happy. If that's also in the top 4 then great, if it's at the very to that's even better.

A decent cup run would be nice though...

Yay - top of the league lol

Happy with United apart from Wellbeck's fannying about for the Swansea goal.

Bit miffed I took the captaincy off RVP in my FF team but I figured if Mata played he'd be worth making captain as Chelsea have a double game week.

Big game for United and Moyes today.
I would have been happy with a draw today. Without looking back at previous years' records, I'm sure it's rare for us to get such a good result in the opening game; Swansea aint no mugs and were as good, if not better in the centre of the park today.

Today, the praise will be heaped on RVP, but from what I saw, the defence made a laughing stock of the idiots who have decided that the pre-season results are a barometer of the future. P to the F to another F to a T!

UNITED!

Nice start to the season and great start to the fantasy league. My 3 forwards have 5 goals between them! :)

Thought Moyes had a good start against Swansea just now. I hope Arsenal sort themselves out and make some quality signings before the end of the season!

And on a side not my team Forest now 3 out of 3, not conceded a goal and two clear in the Championship! (at this early stage after only 3 games I know)

The biggest issue I have is wenger coming out year after year and saying we can compete for trophies and are as good as the big boys. He seems blind to our faults. At least just be honest and say that we are competing with Liverpool and spurs for 4th.

We could have had a good cup run last year but lost to a crap championship side who almost went down and a league 2 side!!!

This thread really does need fans from outside the Premiership, so keep it coming, dont let it be a side note

Having supported the O's for over forty years my answer would have to be no

Great to be wrong this time, but fear those words "oh well there's always next season" will be used again next May

Never dull being an Orient supporter and even with hindsight so glad they were my chosen team

Could draw many similarities to being a QPR supporter. The one comfort I can give is that this is how we started our Championship winning season 3 years ago.

Rosicky looked your best player, which says something as he couldn't get in the team a couple of years ago.

Just watched match of the day. Ref decisions looked correct. For the second penalty from the refs view it looked a stone cold penalty, from the view at the front I wasn't sure, the. When slowed down you can see he's actually taken the player down before he's touched the ball. The sending off was his own stupid fault.

Agree. I know highlights don't always tell the story but we did only have 4 shots on target, same as villa.

Both were pens, and while vlaar should have had a 2nd yellow, koscieny again acts like an idiot, charging in when just been booked.

I believe our best 11 can compete with the best like utd and Chelsea, but we have a poor squad and often lack motivation and a plan which is down to manager.

All the ups (not that many in my case) and downs that make it so interesting

Have been to Loftus Road watching the O's a fair few times, easy trip on the central line from Leyton, particularly remember being on the end of a 1-5 defeat one boxing day in the 70's.

Good luck for the season, sure it won't be boring with your current manager

The 1st game my dad took me to was at Brisbane Rd (72/73 I think). We lost 2-0 but I remember being taken to the return fixture at Loftus Rd where we won 3-1. Going to football as a kid, great days.

And no, never boring with our Arry! :D
