It's a funny old game ... did Giggs tear them apart today, or did Norwich not bother turning up?
Looked good to me, much better than the Palace game and the one or two other 'corner turners' the all knowledgeable media proclaimed as 'good' United performances.
Absolutely brilliant hearing 'Paul Scholes, he scores goals!' as there werent enough positive chants for the current team this year (posibly an oxykevinmoran)

Utd played a lot better, but Norwich didn't seem as good as against Liverpool. How one affected the other it's hard to know. Credit where it was due though, it wasn't close.

You would have hoped for an improvement with a new manager, it'll be interesting to see how Utd do in the next game.

To be fair, Norwich are a different team at home.

Awww, Shelvey the ex liverpool player you mean ... I think there are plenty of occasions where an 'important' england player is praised excessively for a piece of skill that is equalled or bettered by lesser mortals week in week out ;)

What is the FA going to do about the pathetic refs we see week in week out?

Stonewall penalty for Osman and he gets booked for diving - Rose shoves someone and gets a yellow, Adebayour elbows and nothing???? Too busy taking action over managers criticising refs!!!

As a neutral I'd rather watch West Brom. They have been playing mostly attractive football for a couple of years.

I think quite a few West Ham fans feel the same way about the style of footy they are playing. ;)

Do they play footy,i havnt seen it for years :D

Rose should have gone off, if you raise your arms like that you should be off. Again, virtually ignored on MotD.

Some v poor decisions all season. I think it is the worst season ever for Referees. They should be getting better, but sadly not, and seemingly nothing happens to them when they make a mistake.

Strange circumstances today for United.

It's more than likely United will have a new manager next season, new players will come in, some players will leave and with nothing to play for today it was all fairly irrelevant.

Watching the game reminded me of when my cat came home after going to live with somebody else for a few weeks :)

That Moaninho's a card isn't he, just read this about which keeper to use tomorrow.
“Yes it's a big dilemma – and against players that are always looking for penalties and go for the contact with the goalkeeper, it's even more dangerous,” Mourinho said.

“When the goalkeeper comes and this kind of striker goes to hit the goalkeeper and dive for a penalty, it's even more dangerous.

So lets get this straight, if they lose it will be because they put out a weakened team.

He has also said they have rubbish forwards.

They are also being forced to play (a possibly weakened team) in the league, their literal bread and butter, at a time which is not best for them. They should just decide which they want to go for next year, because he obviously thinks they can't win both. ;)

Liverpool are all nice and rested because they have not been as successful as Chel$ki with all their large expensive squad.

And if there happens to be contentious decision in the box, he has sown the seeds.

I'm sure there are some more excuses and b****x he's put out there that I've missed. He never makes mistakes of course. ;)

They'll go and get a result at Anfield now.

He's starting to get more tedious more quickly than he did last time he was here.

Circumstances obviously favour Liverpool but that's life. Mourinho will always highlight these things but that's what makes him good fun.

I can only see Liverpool turning Chelsea over tomorrow regardless of team selections.

I know it's not quite the same but that treble year was insane. FA cup final v Newcastle I was confident about, the title had me twitchy and the champions league final v Bayern was a roller coaster.

Liverpool will win the title this year and the fans will love it. For the young fans it will be extra special as (like me 20 odd years ago) they will be experiencing it for the first time

As Brendan says, whatever team Chelsea put out it'll be worth more and more experienced than ours.

Will we win? I'm hopeful rather than expectant.

TV doesn't always show the whole picture though does it?
Rose had been consistently running past and after he scored the goal was targeted for some very rough treatment. That was something like the nineth or tenth foul on him in a row, including one studs up that went unpunished.
Adebayours didn't look deliberate live, more a clumsy jump, but then even motd relied on a long distance camera to try to make something out of it.

Good work by Sherwood I thought to pull him off, but Stoke got him off the field which is what they wanted.

Doesn't matter what the provocation is, u raise hands and u deserve to go. I thought adebayour looked before the elbow.

Doesn't matter what went on before, raise your hands like that and you should get a red imho. A shove like that could have started a mass brawl.

The Adebayor incident was less clear cut from the video they showed on MotD.

Having said that, great decision by Dowd in Sunderland game, good advantage then pen and red card.

Worth more or cost more ?

You can only go by cost, as worth is open to interpretation and argument. How much would Gerrard, Flanagan or any home grown player, from either team, be valued at? All values would be speculation. ;-)

That's really the point I was trying to make (y)

How much the player cost isn't really indicative of their worth or indeed their abilty.

huh hows that a good decision then the initial tackle was made outside the box so he give them advantage they do nothing with it so they give sunderland a penalty and send cala off lol your off it mate.

Maureen doing a job on us. I always feared this fixture.

Real test for Liverpool now. Poor Stevie. You couldn't write this stuff.

Could be a big slip by Gerrard, losing the ball for Ba to go through and score just before half time. Liverpool 0 - 1 Chel$ki. :-/

I'd snatch your hand off for a draw now.

Ooh, the irony if Stevie G loses Liverpool the title!

I love football and I hate it!!

Over to you City, was a big ask to win the last 5 games with the teams we had to face.

Champions League next year, Objective won!

I still fancy Liverpool for the title but you could tell today which team and manager had been there and done it.

Over to City now - another 'on goal difference' title ?

If I was a certain ex member here is have backed my hunch and won money today.

In my opinion it is now City's as I don't see us beating Palace. And City are already winning, today was the day if we got a win I would of been able to dream.

Off to sort out my Liverpool membership and cup tickets (hope I get Champions League).

By been there and done it do you mean spoilt the game and parked the bus? I would gladly never win another league title if that's how it's done.

Not sour grapes, BTW.

Perhaps Everton will be able to do Liverpool a favour. Can't see the other matches causing much trouble for City.
