I could never understand why you would put somebody who has never won anything in charge of the most successful club in the Premiership, it just doesn't make sense, at all. However, Everton have been a revelation under Martinez. They are playing the sort of football Manure used to, with mostly the same players.

If Welbeck does want out, all the top clubs will be chasing him.

West Brom scored a great goal, but didnt do much else. For sure City will miss Silva if his injury is a serious one. Didn't look too good..

City 6 points behind Liverpool with a game in hand. If Chelsea were to beat Liverpool then City's goal difference 'could' be worth something.

Still Liverpool's though as I can see Chelsea resting players due to Champions League and City look like being without Silva's and possibly Aguero again.

Looked like it could be serious for Silva, fingers crossed for him. Not only could it be a blow for Cit€h for the end of the season, but a huge blow for Silva if he misses the World Cup.

I think the very early goals hit WBA, and took the wind of their sails a bit. From the initial miss kick Dorrans took his goal brilliantly. A silver lining on a disappointing result.

Until this week I'd not heard of anyone wanting Welbeck. And it seems we are hearing about it now because, I'm assuming, his agent is making it known that Welbeck wants a move and is testing the water. So I'd query "all the top clubs will be chasing him." If top clubs wanted him, there would be speculation all the time. Costa, Benzema, Pogba etc are linked with moves a lot, not so Welbeck. ;)

Nearly choked on my cereal this morning reading this, I am sure I will here lots of jokes today about Utd but that is going to be hard to beat!

Yep, just been on Breakfast TV..

Poor David. You'd think he was given the easy job of taking over the league champions who had the same squad as the season before!

I think that even if fergie had stayed in charge they would have only finished 5th.

I've just heard that Moyes changed van Persie's fitness regime that got him ready for games, which may have contributed to his injuries this season. He used to do his own thing, which obviously worked. His goals could have covered up the cracks again.

Just saw this;
and found it amusing.

I just read that too. :)

Happy days

2013-14 : The season that will be remembered as the season that Liverpool finally Manchester United didn't participate in. ;)

Giggs in charge? That's not going to help their appalling home record, I thought Giggs only knew how to play away from home... :)

I feel something similar to any season won by oil tycoons ;)

Yup. Moyes has absolutely no record of winning trophies, or even the nouse of how to. He didn't earn the tag of 'Bottler' for no reason whilst at Everton. His style of play isn't suited to what is now expected at United; he's more than happy to take a draw than go for a win.

United was a step too far for him.

Don't be so modest, whoever wins it, Utd did participate. They gave points and goals away to all the contenders. The winners will have not been able to do it without them. ;)

Very good.

Do you think Giggs will pick himself?

Somebody has done OK.....

In March 2014, American investment group Baron Capital purchased 24% of all available shares on the New York Stock Exchange (equivalent to 2.4% of the entire club) at $15.84 per share.

United’s stock rose to $18.78 on the New York Stock Exchange in just over three hours after trading opened at 2.30pm BST today.

That placed the overall value of the club at more than $3 billion - An increase of $100 million since Moyes's last day in charge.

If you have inside knowledge there is always potential to make huge amounts of money with shares as the reason for changes can be based on nothing. It's how the rich stay rich, being in the know. ;) Obviously get it wrong and there is the potential for huge losses too. ;)

And any profits/losses only become real once you sell them.

Good result for Chel$ki tonight. Didn't seem the most exciting match, and that must be well done to Chel$ki. Atletico have quite a few players who have been linked with many teams, Costa, Koke, Juan Fran, Turan, and none of them really stood out for me. On a knife edge for the 2nd leg though.

Very true - although having 10% of the business 'floated' does at least allow visibility of what the Glazers company is worth.

That said - being worth zip get's you bought up and untold riches lol

As for the Atlecico v Chelsea game - decent result for Chelsea however 0:0 at home is never a bad 1st leg result. I'd say both teams can claim to be happy.

I agree completely, but it would have taken far more guts from the board to say, "No, Sir Alex, we think your man is f*****g useless. We'll choose our own man, thanks".

This one made me chuckle.......

Good one.... I wonder who he nicked the trophy from?

Well, the man to go for at the time was Mourinho, but there was no way Fergie would have allowed that! And now Fergie is going to be on the panel for choosing the new manager. I guess he may have less influence this time around?

I hope he has lots of input. Paul Lambert? ;)
