What a game. Still coming down. Four more to go.

Special mention to City and their fans who were a credit. Pellegrini is a true gentleman.

I might be late to the Liverpool party today, it's because I've just got back from having all my fingers dressed after biting my nails so much. I swear they'll give me a heart attack by the end of the season if the results keep coming like this. Credit due to City for making it 'probably' the game of the season so far. Swansea currently holding Chel$ki to 0-0 at half time despite being a man down, they really could do their old boss a favour today.

0-1 now.

Didn't watch the Liverpool v City game (I had grass to cut) but it sounded a good one.

It was good.
City didn't show up for the first half, Liverpool were all over them. Fast paced football and City just couldn't keep up.
35 minutes in and City perked up.
Second half, it certainly got interesting.
Penalties denied on both sides. Zabaleta's was a penalty but because he put a bit of drama into showing he was going down, Clattenberg didn't give it.
Suarez decided to don his trunks and do his best Tom Daley impression then act like he'd just been shot. It was seriously laughable. I would be embarrassed if I were his team mates. Infact, no, I would be embarrassed if I were him.
The Riverdance attempt by Kompany which led to the 3rd goal was a schoolboy error. So basic it should never have happened. But it did.
Ended 3-2 but I think a draw would have been a fairer result. It could so easily have gone either way.

That 'punch' in the box (was it Skittles?) was naughty, but it's not the first time that it's happened in the history of football. Won't be the last.
Suarez diving was just atrocious though. At a time when it was just so unnecessary too. Clattenberg clearly deemed it not a foul, so he should have backed that up and booked him for diving.

Did no good for my flamin' blood pressure though!

Still, if City win all their games, and Liverpool win all but one, it's ours ;)
And you've got Chelsea to play yet :p

*fingers crossed!*

Come on, lets see some honesty here. Who's the first Liverpool fan to admit they cheated their way to 3 points today?
And at the Eithad Liverpool should of got a point, swing and roundabouts. Wins a win and nothing can change that now.

You have to fancy Hull City for the FA cup, must be odds on favourites, surely .

Oh and well done Liverpool, big big must win game today and they did.

Stop whining. I hated seeing Suarez acting up like that because he's been clean as a whistle all season, but cheated? We scored three, gave you one and you couldn't score any more.

Did you actually watch the match  We totally outplayed City in the first half.

I wouldn't say cheat their way to 3 points.
However, I would say two players clearly let their team down with some unsportsmanlike tactics, and because of that I do think we were robbed slightly
With 2 penalties not given (And 1 for Liverpool too!) and Gnashers trying to get players wrongly booked by rolling about like he's dodging a sniper.

Yes we were played off the field for the first 35 minutes and I said as much at the time, but we came back fighting and turned the game around. Overall I think a draw would have better reflected the game.

Agree, a draw would have been a better reflection of the game, given City's strength to comeback. Still glad we won though :D

Kompany fouled Suarez and it was a clear penalty if your talking about the Demichelis incident there was contact although Suarez did overdo it. Skrtel was a very lucky man if the ref had seen it it would have been a pen and at least a booking

Good game though and really could have gone either way City will be sick about Toure I hope it's not long term. Nice to see an ex Leeds lad come on and breathe some life into city.

What garbage. A lot of games are decided by 'cheating', Liverpool were no worse than any other side. Swings and roundabouts.

Agreed, but given how we player at your place and the perfectly good goal disallowed I'd say that is evens.

So you condone the actions then.

How about the penalty at the end (and the one on Silva a bit earlier)? And if you try and claim Suarez was fouled by Komapny then you've just lost any credibility.

Fantastic game to watch, but you can't honestly say you won it fair and square

That's your credibility out of the window then. Kompany clearly pushed Suarez over using both hands. Also I'm interested to know out of the three goals which one was due to cheating. You were beaten fair & square by the better team on the day and all your posts seem like sour grapes.

Oh btw I'm a Leeds supporter so just an interested neutral.

Steve.

Admit you cheated then!

If you can honestly tell me that none of your players have ever cheated then I'll hold my hands up. The game is full of it. The Suarez "dive" wasn't a dive - there was contact - but I don't like the rolling around pretending to be shot. He should have had a free kick. The Kompany pen appeal was a stonewall pen. Take off your sour grape flavoured blinkers. Yes, you should have had a pen, maybe even two, but that happens to all teams. Grow a pair, man up and stop whining like a little girl who's had her sweeties taken away.

I used to like City fans, but you are as bad as that other lot.

Blinkers of the highest quality. It's funny that all the Liverpool fans at work agree with me about the diving and the penalties (albeit with a smirk on their faces) but you're totally unpepared to admit any fault here. Still, you're obviously proud of your teams conduct so we'll leave it there then

Absolute rubbish. There was more physical contact in the pre-match hand shake than that penalty claim, just another case of Freddie Mercury rolling around like a little girl instead of trying to score. Funny he never does it anywhere away from the penalty area

I've not said any of the goals were downto cheating, it's the diving and the handball that are the cheating elements, none of which anyone has had the good grace to admit yet.

Totally ruined what was otherwise a superb match for the neutral

Feel free to take a look through my previous posts on other games. I've always held my hands up to our faults, unlike the blinkers on here

Sorry Mike but it didnt ruin it for me and you must have missed my earlier post regarding Skrtel

you crack me up. I honestly couldn't give a toss about your opinion - I'm a happy boy this morning and no amount of bleating is going to change that. It was an incredibly emotional weekend for all true football fans, we witnessed a perfectly observed minutes silence, a great game of football and the right result for such an important occasion. To be going on and on about all the decisions you didn't get in light of all of that just makes you sound like a bit of a t***.

No one's as bad as everton fans :D

You should try living up here amongst Celtic and Rangers fans.

My local club is St Johnstone (we made the Scottish Cup final by the way) and nobody really cares about us which is nice.

Being from corby, I'm well aware of rangers/celtic rivalry, despite it being over 300 miles from glasgow :D

You're just up the road, mate!

And just to inject a little scouse humour into the debate...

Haha, I am loving how bitter city fans are today. Just take in on the chin, your still favourites for the title as we have to get past Chelsea parking the bus!!!

Is it the case that.........

Liverpool win the title if they win their remaining games.

Chelsea win the title if they win their remaining games.

If Chelsea beat Liverpool then City win the title if they win their remaining games.

if chelsea and liverpool both win their remaining games then ... oh hang on, I've done it again :D

Chelsea win the title if they win their remaining games.
If Chelsea beat Liverpool then City win the title if they win their remaining games.
You cant have both these cases though

It is....
1) Liverpool win all their games and title is theirs
2) Chelsea win all their games and City drop points title is theirs.
3) City win all their games and Chelsea beat Liverpool and Title is theirs.
4) but not likely is that those three teams lose all their games and either Everton or Arsenal win all theirs and they are champions.

Only the top 5 can still possibly win it but only 3 of them sides are likely.

Today we put aside our colours and remember that 25 years ago 96 ordinary people went to what should have been a joyful occasion and paid the ultimate price for it. The football family learnt valuable lessons that day, but still, 25 years on, we do not have justice. We're closer than ever though and this should be the last year the immediate families and the wider LFC and football family have to wait. Today I am dedicating every moment of happiness and appreciation for the life that I have to the 96 and their families.

Superbly put, I don't think there's much anyone could add to that. I was due to be there but my scooter broke down and couldn't get there. I was due to meet up with a friend who sadly died that day, I suppose I was lucky the scooter broke down but I didn't see it that way until afterwards. God Bless all of the 96 and their families and friends. JFT96 YNWA

I'm glad you didn't make it, mate.
