Villa v Sunderland sounds like a good one.

Hoping for a Villa win, I'd like them to stay up, and Benteke looks a great player.

I look forward to signing Bent next season for 15 million.

:D You know what, I don't actually think he is that bad, and at least he speaks his mind. I'd prefer his analysis over Alan 'I do no research on bottom half of the PL teams' Shearer.

I alternate currently between complete apathy and anger at the ineptitude of everything that has gone on this season. I'm more concerned that we have learned nothing, and come July Harry will have spending spree, and continue to say he is blameless for anything until the day he leaves on another huge paycheck (he's not grown on me if you can tell:gag:).

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about Shearer, probably because I only end to watch MotD when we win!

Jury's out with Redknapp as far as I'm concerned but he's miles better than Hughes was!

4-1 Villa now, could this finally be the year Wigan drop?

No doubt Redknapp is better than Hughes, but then again no one could be much worse. I think Redknapp is a good manager, but like everything else this season has been a bit of a let down for me. I'm not shouting for him to be sacked, but I'd like it if just once something was not someone else's fault. He reminds me of someone I worked with before, take all the glory, someone else's issue when it's going wrong.

Re Wigan who knows - if they win a few games, how many more games will Newcastle, Sunderland, Norwich and Saints win? Villa do look like they will stay up, a bit of form, and a great striker. I never really understand why people like Villa - great ground, generally good fans, historically good football, I wish them well.

Typical Liverfool fan.....Bale was far better than Suarez, imo - their win ratio is a plus point for this facht.

I'd like to think I'm not a typical anything. ;)

Isn't it a vote on the best player, not the best player in in the team that wins the most. Although looking at the Michu omission, that may not be the case for most people.

If Suarez didn't have his negative side, and and Bale didn't have his much lesser negative side, ;) then imho Suarez has been the better player for the more of the season. I thought Suarez was better, you think Bale was better. The players voted, which is all that matters.

Villa 6 v Sunderland 1. Not a good weekend for the North East. Dangerous time for Newcastle and Sunderland to lose form. It will be interesting to see how they both respond.

Fantastic result for the Villa. My grandad would be a happy man tonight.

PFA awards on Sky Sports 1 now. Not bothered who did, didn't, should, shouldn't win what but it might be a good watch.

I heard about the PFA shindig on the radio earlier, and it seems Reginald D Hunter was an extremely stupid decision to have as entertainment. I like him, and he's a funny chap, but it sounds as his material was not suitable for the event. :nono:

With the FA reeling from incidents of racism, it was not wise to hire a comedian who was casually throwing around the 'N' word during his act, nevermind the content of any actual jokes he may have told. :bonk: Especially as we've seen how much trouble a non black player can get into for using the same word on the pitch. :cuckoo:

Professional Footballers’ Association demand Reginald D Hunter money back following 'offensive' routine at awards

I'm sticking my neck out here - I've a sneaky feeling Real may turn their CL semi around.

I seriously hope not. I can't get enough of their yellow wall! Fell in love with it the first time I saw it and have been awe of their fans ever since.

I saw someone tweet they got odds of 10/1 for Dortmund to qualify and lewandowski to score anytime so there must be a lot of people feeling that Real Madrid will turn things around.

Wouldn't surprise me, 3-0 at the Bernabeu seems very feasible to me

If they weren't British Officials I might agree. ;)

I see they've proved corruption at the top of the FIFA tree from the past. :nono:

There may be something similar in the future regarding the background of the decision to have the World Cup in Qatar, in summer, in 2022. ;) :bonk: :cuckoo:

Looks unlikely at half time but Real have had their chances

Not sure Ramos should even be on the pitch given the number of elbows he's put into the back of Lewandowski's head!

I know lol

Still - at least it made for an interesting game in the last 10 mins or so.

Real will be cursing their earlier misses no doubt

Bugs me how ITV cut interviews short. They looked to be on a good one with Jose then.

Looked like they were onto an exclusive for Mourinho's plans next season but as usual a fantastic interview is just something getting in the way of the chance to run an advert. I hate ITV. At least the CL will be on sky and ITV I believe. Next year sky have Carragher and Redknapp so suddenly Adrian Chiles has a bit of competition

Carragher has the perfect voice for silent movies :naughty:

Oh and Savage joins MOTD. I might just mute my TV and play Alan Partridge's commentary on repeat!

That was an exciting end to the match.

Ramos could seemingly do virtually what he wanted with regards to fouling. :shake: I've seen him to it in other games too. He is a charmed man.

I try to watch only the games on ITV, (BBC as well for that matter) I can't be doing with all the waffle before, during and after games. It's bad enough having to listen to Andy Townsend during a game. :bang:

I can't knock ITV for putting the ads in though, they have to pay for the CL afterall. They could sometimes be a bit flexible with the timing of the ads, but it's not like the BBC who can play about a bit more with the timing of programmes.

Ever since ITV stopped showing highlights of the CL games on the Wednesday nights, I've gone right off the Champions League. Show a Tuesday game live, and then show highlights of the Tuesday game(s), and then we're supposed to pop on over to Sky on the Wednesdays, or wait till later in the week, at stupid o'clock in the morning to see the rest of the games. Er, no thanks. :shake: It doesn't help that Liverpool are not in it as well. :(

ITVs deal with the CL doesn't work for me. :shake:

For anybody who missed it.

I know we all missed it - but for anybody that missed missing it.

I missed it. That is shocking.......

He looked ready to spill and then was cut off. I'd love to see him back in the premiership. I don't always agree with his methods/standards but the man is a winner and its a more interesting place with him around!

Bye bye Barca

Does Robben have a patent on that particular goal ?

The more I watch Barca fail in front of Bayern, the prouder I am of the fight we put up against them on their own patch. Shame we dropped the ball on the first leg!

3 points would have been nice with the spuds dropping 2 yesterday, but TBH would have taken 1 before kick off.

Arsenal today showed their class with a well deserved guard of honor for the champions. Good to be a Gooner!

I thought that was excellent gamesmanship from wenger, just to try to get man utd to relax and it worked.

So apparently Stewart Robson has said Ferguson should sign Jack Wilshere for £40m  I never imagined I could hate someone who once wore the Arsenal shirt quite so much. Something has seriously snapped in his head to become so bitter towards the club.

Is he your version of our 'bitter' Roy Keane then ?

The footy has been a bit flat for me of late with the title over (not that I'm complaining) so I'm looking forward to this weekend's fixtures + extra few catch up fixtures.

Can't see Arsenal slipping up against QPR so you'd have to say it's a big few days for Chelsea playing United AND Tottenham and a big few days for Tottenham playing Saints and then obviously Chelsea.

I'm guessing you'll want United to beat Chelsea the Chelsea to probably beat Tottenham ?

I'll be keeping an eye on Wigan away at West Brom then home to Swansea whilst Newcastle have a tricky trip to West Ham.

The Mersyside Derby too - Everton probably just edged out now but pecking order to play for.

Should all make for a good few days.

Championships pretty lively today

16 minutes extra time in the Watford - Leeds game at the end of the first half! Watford down to their 3rd choice keeper I believe now.

Hull still holding on though

Unfortunately. Would much rather Watford came up!

Still time, its gonna be harder with 10 men though

I wonder if Wolves are still happy with their "new stands"

As long as one of the other teams besides Bolton come up from the play-offs, then only 1 team i dislike isn't too bad going. I'll be annoyed if both Hull and Bolton make it up!
