Luis "the Vampire" Suarez - ban him for a year.
He has done it before, he will do it again.
As they say - "once a biter, always a biter"
No room for scum like him in a professional sport.

Apparently Mike Tyson has defended him on Twitter - you just couldn't make it up!

I don't know about Mike Tyson defending Suarez, though they did say on MOTD2 that he followed Suarez this evening.

The only non-liverpool fan I've seen defend him has been Joey Barton, which probably says it all.

There's obviously something not quite right with him. I doubt he can even explain himself why he does these things.

Biting, stamping, spitting, eye gauging, hair pulling, heel raking, verbal abuse - the list goes on. To make matters worse he nearly always makes out he's the one that's been offended.

Yesterday's bite was so funny - he started off with a sore head and then ended up limping.

He made Dalglish and Liverpool a laughing stock last time around and it's good to see their PR has woken up. I just find it funny now.

One of the best quotes from the Liverpool FC forum:

"Just like a pet dog loved by the family, if it is mentally unstable and a potential danger to others, get rid of it - you can't keep making excuses."

The media are certainly in a frenzy this time - it'll be interesting to see Liverpool's response and whether he'll ever wear a red shirt again.

I agree. There is zero defence for what he did - especially after the moving applause and tribute to Anne. I would prefer he never play for us again after that.

What a dull premier league season we'd have had if it wasn't for luis Suarez. His antics and performances have been the talking points of an otherwise dull season. Title sewn up months ago, relegation battle very predictable for the last few weeks.

If he stuck to being brilliant it'd be great, but as it is we're talking about his madness and not the great match that would have been a fitting Anne Williams and Hillsborough tribute.

Don't think he defended him per se, has just said people need to move on. But it's not unsurprising he'd come out and say something along those lines. Think he'd want most people to forget his career.

Some this on QPR forum, lots flying around, some excellent, some pretty bad. Examples below.

Bacary Lasagne

Arsenal have appealed Giroud's red card. If it's deemed a frivolous appeal he'll miss all 4 games remaining this season.

I dont get the fuss - while biting is wrong, as is spitting, is it really worse than say the recent bad tackles made and unpunished which could have ended a players career. If I had the choice to receive a bite or a 2 footed lunge at my knee I know what I would choose, so anything over a 3 game ban is not needed imo.

stop talking in such a reasonable manner you are getting in the way of the over reaction :nono:

happy supporter after the weekend. Sunderland fan here.

Well at least a two footed lunge is related to the game of football at least - two players coming together with the parts of the body that the game revolves around.

Biting someone is indefensible.

surely deliberatly raking your studs down someones leg is also indefensible - no matter if it uses the parts of the body the game revolves around.

What about a headbut - fellaini recieved a 3 match ban for a deliberate headbutt. Why is a bite worse than a headbutt exactly?

None of the are defendable actions and should all result in the same punishment

And straight away, in the post match interview, Moyes said Fellaini should be banned and that the club would accept any punishment given.

Liverpool come out and give the age old response of "We didn't see it"....but managed to see other incidents during the game; no class!!

Suarez has previous with 'raking' players and head butting a ref.

Biting is disgusting though. He could have given the poor fella rabies.

its irrelevant what moyes said after the interview compared to what rodgers said.

The club have given him a fine and have made it clear they dont tolerate it.

Doesn't mean a bite is worse than a head butt

but you still didn't answer the question.

Why is a bite more disgusting than raking studs down a players shin or deliberately stamping on someone. The question isnt whether suarez has done them or not - it's why is a bite worse?

a bite is unlikely to end a players career - something a stamp or a two footed tackle could do

Also, you can only give rabies if you had rabies in the first place. I can't confirm or deny if Suarez did indeed have rabies to give

I don't think it is 'worse' I just think it's more 'disgusting'. My own view.

If I get punched or kicked I obviously feel the pain but I wouldn't find either as disgusting as being bitten or spat on.

The rabies comment was a obviously in jest.

in which case the punishment should be the same no?

I'm totally behind him getting a ban. But all this drama about it being 8/9 games and never putting the shirt on again etc - come on. it's no worse than a shin raker, deliberate punch or headbut

The rabies comment was a obviously in jest.

I thought this made it obvious I understood that

I can't confirm or deny if Suarez did indeed have rabies to give

I think it's like bringing a knife to a fist fight. Any harm done through the head or feet are an unfortunate misuse of the tools of the trade. The use of the teeth is like bringing a hidden weapon.
Look, the guy is mental and needs counseling and a few games off. I'm glad to see there are liverpool fans content to have him stay and remain a mid table team. Ooh, how we'd trade the 20th title for his signature

I'd hardly call Suarez's teeth a hidden weapon. I mean they are there for all to see haha.

On a more serious note though I'm a liverpool fan and I do believe he should receive a ban for what he did. As for the length of that ban that is the tough question.

In my view biting is no more of an offence than spiting and so should be dealt with accordingly. I don't recall a player getting thrown out of the game for spitting and likewise Suarez should not be thrown out of the game either.

stop talking sense!! You're ruining the drama queens posts!

Well it's 'violent conduct' he's been charged with so I think it will (and should) just be treated the same way as any other form of violent conduct even if biting somebody is a bit mental.

What I've not looked into is whether his previous 7 game ban for biting is taken into account - repeat offence etc.

Also I can't remember if he's on some kind of parole period on the back of his Evra thing.

Either way, if he does get a ban & I'm not really bothered - all that really matters to LFC is whether or not it affects next season or not.

Over and above the fine - I asume Liverpool won't be doing their own ban ?

Sorry, but spitting, however disgusting, is not an assault. Biting, and the rash of nasty tackles over the last few weeks is. I don't think we'll see Suarez for the rest of this season, quite rightly imho.

I don't know about selling him, but be in no doubt, there'd still be a queue for him if Liverpool did. Although any fee would be affected after that incident. Can you guarantee that he wouldn't do that again though? Probably not, seeing as he's done it before sadly. I think we should get rid, there is just too much negativity from him. Unbelievable talent, but he is a deeply flawed person.

FA people said:
while the standard punishment for violent conduct was a three-match ban, that was "clearly insufficient in these circumstances".

FA statement on Suarez: Charged with Viloent Conduct "standard punishment of 3 matches that would otherwise apply is clearly insufficient in these circumstances".

He's got 24hrs to chew over it:)

I think LFC will just want whatever he gets to start ASAP

Anyway - to more important matters - I'm off work tomorrow so I'm hoping for a good performance tonight from United.
