I didn't think hart deserved a red, ba was moving away from goal, hart pulled out of the challenege when he realised he couldn't get the ball, and ba made the contact with hart, not the other way round. It was a foul, but didn't deserve a card. Spot on by the ref

I only saw a quick view on motd, i didnt think it was a red, but maybe at least a yellow?

i think a yellow could have been shown from where the ref was standing, but when you actually see the foul it's not a yellow in my eyes

No stopping Mr Bale at the mo

His tendency to bang them in from range and our love of stepping off and conceding long shots does worry me for our next game!
Iam hoping for a draw I want you both to finish above chelsea:)

I'd never thought of that

Pehaps City beating Chelsea was a good result after all.

Chelsea's final few games of the season looks like a tough run in.

Top 5 is still wide open for a few games yet, though I have limited optimism that Arsenal will squeeze themselves inside.

Next weekend's game will likely decide who finishes above the other in the North London derby.

I was hoping for a city win tbh i just hope it doesn't bite me in the arse:D

chelsea to finish 5th would be great

With the title race done and dusted the 2nd 3rd and 4th place battle is shaping up nicely!

I still can't allow myself to believe its done and dusted Joe:)

City are more than able to beat us when we play them.

We chucked away an 8 point lead over 6 games last season so a 9 point lead over 10 games isn't done and dusted.

Good to see a Fergie time winner in the Liverpool v United U21 game tonight. The flares and smoke bombs were a bit much though LOL

We could potentially drop points at home to City and chelsea away to Arsenal and even Stoke but city dont look capable of going on a long winning streak to apply any pressure

yes it is done and dusted. You will see that I am right come end of season.

It matters not what united do against city. City will not win all of their games, mark my words.

Last season was very different, united were not playing as well as they could and city were invincible in the home run. This year city look weakened and united have played consistently well all season with the odd blip.

City have a fight to stay 2nd at the moment. You wouldn't bet your mortgage on them finishing 2nd at all this season.

Exactly!!

City will choke. You can see it a mile off

I'm just sticking to the facts.

It's not not over at the moment and City don't need to win all their games.

If United win the league (which I think they will) it doesn't mean you are right that it's done and dusted this week, last week, the week before or next week.

we'll see phil, we'll see

He may look like an extra from Planet of the Apes, but Bale is just getting better and better. Chances he'll stay at Spurs?

I've got the humble pie ready for you anyway, all you'll need to bring along are your words!

You're on a wind up Joe

Your 'done and dusted' comments over the last few weeks become irrelevant once the league is over. If United do win the league, you could certainly serve humble pie to somebody that thinks City will win it but you'll be no more correct than everybody else on here.

I like the lad he scores some great goals but I still get the urge to chop his hands off when he makes that heart sign after scoring

The title is already over. I called it weeks ago.

As for bale I thought it was hilarious when the hammers fans were singing "you look like a chimp" then he scored

You should have put some money on it...

With regards to Bale, he certainly is hitting the best form of his career. I guess whether he stays at Spurs depends if Spurs get Champions League football. If not, then I think he's gone (Madrid). But then again, look how much everyone salivated over Modric...

Bale's certainly on top form right now. If he can hold it for the rest of the season there's going to be a lot of interest in him, but I'm not jumping on the 'world-class' 'top 5' hysterical bandwagon just yet following a hot 2-3 months.

That said, I can't stand the guy. Not just because he plays for spurs either. His stupid celebration, his copying of Ronaldo's free kick stance, diving and not stepping up and playing for Team GB are difficult for me to get beyond.

Also, you have to ask questions of West Ham's defence yesterday. Everyone knows if you let him drift onto his left outside the area he'll produce a shot and time and again they actively showed him onto that side, and didn't press tightly to limit the angle. They were asking for him to take shot after shot and got punished. Full credit to Jussi though, he made some exceptional saves!

To be fair to him, it's not just the stance he 'copies' - the execution and end product is pretty similar. And I don't see much wrong with that if it gets your team a goal.

Both Bale and Ronaldo don't actually have the best of success rates from free kicks. The nature of the 'knuckle ball' makes it almost as unpredictable to them as it does to the goal keeper, which is why you see so many sail high into the crowd behind. It does however make for spectacular looking free kicks when they fly in.

He also only has 1 premier league assist all season, takes more shots per game than everyone in the league except Suarez, and ranks 5th for shots per game in the whole of Europe.

How he even gets compared to the likes of Ronaldo I don't know. In the same number of appearances he's scored 24 and got 5 assists, and has been reproducing that form for years. That's a whole different league to Bale.

And don't even get me started on Messi, who's another level again in my opinion

Yeah, agree they aren't the most successful - but the execution, as you say 'knuckle ball', is similar - so it's not just the stance, that was my point.

I'm not a Bale lover by any means, I know the stats don't support the over-adorning love he has received from pundits/players/managers of the game. A couple of weeks ago they were comparing him and Walcott as their productivity was pretty much the same (Walcott may have even edged him out), yet Bale was getting all the 'best player in the world' tag and Walcott receiving criticism.

He definitely has the ability, there's no denying that. But to be linked to Real for a reported £50m is just nuts.

you wont be needing one of these then?

I thought Bale was the inspiration for the Gorillaz characters. ;)

When Bale is on form, he is very exciting to watch.

Trouble is he only seems to do it for a few months a season. :bang:

Good luck to Spurs in getting good money for him if a team comes knocking.

Modric is an example of moving to a bigger team. It's easier to stand out in a good team, rather than a very good/great team. Maybe if Bale went to a bigger team may bring some consistency to his game by playing with better players.

Has Rafa thrown another wobbler??

Apparently he's a tad upset with the "Interim" title and the fans abuse is starting to get to him :D

The fans should abuse the person responsible for their problems. Unfortunately for them that's the same person who turned them from nothing into something.

I sincerely hope they can't get a permanent manager in. That would serve Roman right for being so fickle, impatient and greedy.

Not only that, but if the fans can't understand how their berating of the manager has an impact on the team then they deserve Roman.

Can't argue with that:) Joe probably could tho;)
