We already have a european cup - why have another one for the ones who failed to get in it?
You can see he means it in his face. He looks down at the player, gets him on the leg and then gets him on the small of his back with a little sneaky sideways rake for good measure.
I don't think I must have played football before, phil

I like the third but the second looks like a jumper knitted by your nan
That'll look smart with a pair of trackie bottoms and some scuffed Adidas Samba's.
Oh my, I hope someone is having a laugh at the 2nd & 3rd kits for Liverpool,

it just goes to show how hard it is to please everyone with new kits!
I've not heard about a possible United switch to Adidas. What's the rumoured figure for that? Arsenal have agreed a switch to Adidas from 14/15 that earns us £25m a season, which is a very welcome increase from the £13m we've been on for some time. Our new agreement with Emirates boosts our kit sponsorship deal to £150m, but that's still a long way behind the £350m deal united have agreed with Chevrolet for similar sponsorship rights.

I think there may be some very odd sponsorship deals going around as ways of circumventing the Financial Fair play rules, just in case they may be strongly enforced. (some hope :bang![]()
I agree there have been a lot of FFP 'deals' of late that will need looking at but the Nike / United one has long been a record breaker based on United as a business. The last one blew everything else out of the water and United's continued success on and off the pitch suggests there's still value for both parties.
It's all about 'fair value' and I've previously posted (at length) about the likes of Sheikh Mansour pumping massively inflated sums of money (albeit another business he has) into City dressed up as income. Look at the 'self' naming rights of a stadium they don't even own compared to the 'fair value' example set by Emirates and Arsenal.
What the football powers need to decide is whether we go 100% FFP or just say 'sod it' because it can't be policed.
If we go with 100% FFP then everything looks good for United. Arsenal will also be strong.
If we don't police FFP then it will just continue to be like the last few years - Sugar daddies v United.

If we police FFP 100% then everything looks good for United. Arsenal will also be strong. Well run clubs will get their rewards.
If we don't police FFP then we have to accept that any old sugar daddy club (currently City and Chelsea) can come to the fore at any time. United are holding their own but Arsenal and Liverpool are already in danger of being pushed out of the Champions League money which means nothing to the 'funded' clubs.
These would be OK for a Nike effort apart from the lettering...
The Arsenal white away kit is smart, but the home kit doesn't look right. The band across the chest looks out of place.
Wen does the ffp actually start?
I heard a rumour about a way to bypass fp rules. Take Man U as an example. Lets say they want Ronaldo back. One of the sponsors (say Chevrolet) employ him as a ambassador who then happens to play football. So Man U don't pay wages. Not sure how true but seems possible.
Nike's 10 year old deal saw them pay Manchester United over £303 million for a % share of retail sales for its iconic swoosh to grace the home kit, away kit and all club related apparel.
Nike's existing agreement comes to an end in 2014, however Nike are keen to fend off competition, offering to bring forward their renewal option and both parties are currently negotiating a new deal understood to to be upward of £1 billion.
Obviously the details of the deals may be different, but that is a big increase. :|
So Man Utd at home today, can they do what Chelsea, Spurs and Man City have failed to do so far this year - and beat us, or score a goal against us for that matter. We will no doubt adopt the Scotland approach of 4-6-0 formation, with Tarrabt nominally forward.
I expect they will more likely do what Swansea did to us, but let's see, you never know - we are due some luck from 96 and Cantona's 8th minute injury time equaliser - I am not bitter about that!
