We already know you a secret ManU fan anyway....that is why you keep betting on wins.
have you been spying on my bedroom and seeing my manunited bed spread?

I did notice that you got that covered.
If I suggested for one min the title was over I'd be an arrogant United fan.

Liverpool 8-0 against Besiktas and the strange Chelsea 1-1 Barcelona game in 2009 are two that have been mentioned (with no sound reasoning) in the past.
Hopefully it will involve United though and explain our Champions League performances last season LOL
Certainly seems like this should have been a talking point on MOTD...

I think the figure was 380 European matches since 2009 are under investigation.
The Debrecen goalkeeper, who has previous, was reported to have been bribed to allow at least 3 goals in the game..........Liverpool won 1-0.

Hum, arsenal players fall over as soon as they get near the 18 yard area
Got to say though, like the look of their new defensive signing.
Arsenal have one of the best diving records of any team in the league. There was outrage when Cazorla dived a few months back because it's the first time in 18 months anyone has had that particular axe to grind with Arsenal.Theo Walcott just been on tv saying we don't want to be associated with cheating...

Some interesting reading in The Guardian regarding the motives behind Europol's match-fixing allegations.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/feb/04/europol-match-fixing-football
Interesting. The main part that confuses me is the €2m total of alleged payments for this. It seems like a shockingly small amount considering the sheer volume of money in football.
The Greek said:Is that a fact or something you've just made up?
From what I've read on the topic in the past prior to this - most allegations have revolved around the lower paid and the less high profile. Even then it's been about just ensuring teams that would have almost certainly lost - do in fact loose. That's the whole 'low risk' thing they're talking about. No eyebrows raised and not much chance of it going belly up even if individuals don't oblige.
Even if the odds are small - you can make a lot of money if you're safe to lay down a lot of money on a dead cert.
Take a one sided 10/1 game.
You might have to lay down £100 to win £10 if you back the better team so why bother.
If you could bung the ref and the lower team £1000 to ensure the almost inevitable result actually happens then you can stick £100,000 down to win £10,000
Do that in 10 games and there's £100,000 in your pocket for £10,000 in bribes and if the odd game backfires - you're still quids in with the other 8 or 9.
Act as the middle man for 3rd party inverstors and the whole thing just snowballs exponentially.

Theo was on tv last night saying that.
Arsenal had a shocking start to the season (this year, last year) and suddenly their players would get close to the 18 yard area and invite the foul or fall over very easily. Obviously a tactic and a very clever one which resulted in them turning around games. Football being a confidence thing, they were then off and flying.
Trouble is, it's now become another common tactic used by all teams. How many times do you see a player run into a dead end and deliberately fall over easily for the foul.
As far the diving, show me 1 incident inside the 18 yard box except that isn't the now infamous Cazorla dive - infamous because it's the single dive in the box by an Arsenal player for well over a season.

and its hard to tell where this one is due to the zoom

Neither of which were awarded.
If I'm right in thinking Byker is a Chelsea fan then they have a far worse diving record than all bit 2 other teams. Ramires against Arsenal for a penalty? Dive. Ivanovic and Oscar against Stoke? Dive. And that's without google helping me out.
joescrivens said:I don't disagree with you.
But you asked to see dives - not ones that were dives awarded as penalties
I dont think arsenal are a diving team though either
One of the differences I notice is how Arsenal fans react to dives. I'd forgotten of Giroud against Stoke but remember now my twitter erupting with disapproval at the time. We hate to see our own players do it and I'm actually happy to see us get booked if they do try it on.
Some other teams' fans seem to have a much more relaxed attitude towards their own players aka Mr Tumble.

it was against liverpool the giroud one i posted up, was that the one you meant?
Whatever you do - don't go into business with this method.
Aye - the numbers I used don't work but don't get hung up on that - it was more about how the syndicate dead cert betting was explained on TV.

what did you get for your maths GCSE phil?![]()

That's comedy gold![]()

And where is Liverpool's PR - basic things like lets keep "Liverpool" and Match Fixing" out of the same sentence
What Liverpool should be most worried about is that even when the opposition goalkeeper was bribed to let in three goals, they still only managed to score one![]()
not neccessairly. if the 4 defenders werent part of the bribe then liverpool may not have been able to challenege the goalkeeper too much
come on Joe, lighten up. It was only a joke :shake:
