How much would it cost for dinners, trigger and tim to be happy for me to beat them at fantasy football? Now that's serious!

Gimme £30 and I'll transfer a bunch of reserve players into my team :D

You will need to start giving your winnings to LFC so they can buy more players to try an help them beat poor teams.

It's hilarious they Liverpool got beat by Oldham. I still can't stop laughing. Especially cos an old mate went and saw a load if gobby Liverpool fans at the ground

Stoke and Liverpool are out of t'cup...who will jokescrivens cheer for now?

Lets actually start a discussion on that. If you had the power to throw a game - what amount would you accept to have your team knocked out of the fourth round of the FA Cup? Would that figure change depensing on the opposition and what amount would draw the line?

£6,500 would be easy peasy for me, i'd take that every time, even against manurenited

I'd never throw a game for any amount of money. :nono:

If match fixing was rife, then what would the point be of it.

Well done to Oldham, the best team won.

One of the things that p**sed me off about the game though was Andy Townsend, what a d***. He wasn't sure it was foul on Sturridge in the lead up to their 2nd goal. "It's a clumsy challenge. Is it that bad, I'm not sure". He got kneed in the back of the leg and bundled to the floor, and then had his leg stood on, and he wasn't sure it was a foul. :cuckoo: :bang: At least Southgate acknowledged it was a foul later in the highlights. Would it have made a difference? Probably not, but to casually brush it aside just shows that Townsend hasn't got a clue imho. Be on the side of the underdog, dislike a team even, but the job is to accurately describe what happens/happened in the game. If you can't do that, then get another job.

so If I offered you 10 million pounds for liverpool to lose against oldham and you had the power to make it happen without being caught you would turn it down?

what about 100 million?

100 billion?

I mean come on, for 100 billion you could buy Liverpool and turn it into a premier league winning team, surely that would be a better outcome than winning a 4th round FA cup draw against oldham?

Sorry to disappoint, but yes, I would turn it down. Maybe money stops your conscience working, I don't know, I'll never put myself in a position to find out.

If money was the most important thing in my life then I'd be doing all kind of underhand and deceitful things to amass as much as I could, but I choose not to. :) That's not to say I have loads of money. :shake: Wages in today, and 90% will be gone by Thursday for monthly bills and debts. Que sera sera. Just have to have enough to get through to next month. ;)

Can you tell I'm single and have no dependants.

Bias in commentating is rife. You can see it pretty much every game and certainly most weekends on MOTD. It drives me mad too, but if you're going to get retired footballers to give their 'expert' opinion they're never going to be impartial!

I didn't read it as money to match-fix. I interpreted the question as if arsenal were to lose, how much money would stop me feeling unhappy with said loss. Obviously if the question is how much do I need to be paid to make a loss happen, there'd a be a far greater price tag. I'm pretty sure 100m might buy my conscience though!

I expect bias, it would be hard not to be, but to blatantly say that a foul wasn't a foul when the evidence was not even questionable is another thing.

One of the weirder story's that I saw in one of the Sunday papers is that Victor Valdes , Spain's 3rd choice keeper, is somehow worth more than the 2nd choice Spanish keeper. I don't know how they work that one out. And Pepe Reina is suddenly valued at £8M. He may not be on top form, but it wasn't that long ago that the price would be £25M+. He hasn't got 60% worse. :shake:

where have you magicked* that figure from?

*brain is frazzled....I can't think of the word I mean (or even spell it correctly)

Valdes is shocking... would struggle to make it at QPR

Never seen him as far as I know, or noticed him if I have.

Can't see him being that busy at Barca, but he seems to want out, so Barca are on the hunt again. Suddenly Reina's Dad says he'd love to go back, (it's where he started) and Reina's value is suddenly lower than it ever has been. So if he doesn't go in the next few days, they'll get him in the Summer. :bang:

Looks like Guardiola will have a few quid to spend
.

i really can't wait to see how Guardiola goes on next season working with Bayern. I just wish we could have seen him in the Premier League so we could compare against other managers. I really don't get this superstar status that he's achieved when all he's done is get the best team in the world (by a long way) to win a few trophies.

A bit like what Kenny D did first time around.

Legend in a tache! :notworthy:

Indeed he is!

Ferdinand and Hulse gone today on loan, so thankfully the former won't be playing against City tonight. Although we lost we had a great game last year against them, 3-2 defeat, though maybe not as exciting as the 'other' 3-2!

Let's see what tonight brings - I really wish we had not let Helguson go (for £100k :bang:), he was superb last year against them.

i was just borrowing it to see if it was a better car for my family after finding out from others that my Up is no good for me

But did you leave the Up where you borrowed this car? Very bad manners if not :nono:

We've played City 3 times over the last 2 seasons. Alright, we lost all 3 but didn't disgrace ourselves in any of them

Given the amount of dross we had, it was absolutely ridiculous to let Helguson go, especially for that amount of money. God knows what Hughes was thinking when we ended up with a squad with only 3 strikers, all over 30 and two of them know to be injury prone.

All new managers come in and want to make the team their own. They will win or fail with the players they have chosen. Generally they are coming into a failing team, and unless they rate the players they have, they will ship them out. Unless there is someone in the background buying the players with money to throw around, changing managers too often is a recipy for disaster imho. It is no coincidence that the two most succesful teams of the last 40 years, LFC and MUFC, have been very stable.

It could be about to bite Chel$ki on the bum, changing almost every season, or even a few times a season. ;)

Hopefully the Liverpool owners have learned the lesson, and will give Rodgers time. It all sounds like that is the plan. :)

I'm all for Buck getting time, but I wish he'd stop slagging the players off in public, ffs.

Balotelli looks set for AC Milan if his medical goes well. I'll miss his antics!

I think he didn't go far enough and should of named Coates as being a disappointment on Sunday. Looked like he didn't want to be there, didn't want to mix it with smith at all.

If handled correctly it can be a kick up the bum for some players but you have to know your squad well to ensure it will work.

I think at this moment in our history I would take Rogers for the next 3 season and finishing no lower than 7. Sneaking a European spot every once or twice.

How difficult is it to pick players best suited to the conditions? That game was screaming out for Carra rather than Coates. He's not getting any game time and can't get any rhythm at all. I'd hate to be a central defender coming in every now and then in tricky cup games. He needs to go out on loan for experience or be sold on if Buck doesn't fancy him. At the mo he's a liability.

Don't get me wrong, I'm behind Buck, but I'm not a fan of picking players out. To pick out Skrtel, who's been our best defender for three years, is madness. So he's not a shouter. Get someone in to do that then and stop picking quiet ones.

If you want players to come in and do a job, you have to give them more playing time, or buy experience, Coates may be an International, but he's not that experienced, especially in the Premier League. I think he could be a really good player, but with Agger and Skrtel playing so well together, chances will be limited, ask Carragher.

You would have hoped Skrtel would have taken some of the burden off Coates though, but he couldn't handle their player either, and he is a lot more experienced. It could just have been a bad day at the office for both of them. Hope so. ;)

I'm not sure what I think of Rodgers publicly slagging the players off. He may have been saying such things in private, with little effect. What options does that leave? Hopefully it is the kick up the a**e they need.

Good riddance to Balotelli. Waste of space. Trouble waiting to happen. :bonk: Not a team player, and not good enough to make up for it. :shake:
