Benitez at Chelsea could single handedly put an end to European recession. Just need Dalglish to replace Mancini now and the fun would be limitless.

Looks like we will do our bit to help if Redknapp arrives!

sounds like old whiskey nose is back to his old bitching tricks.

I dont think there is a more childish manager of football than that old fart

What you don't understand Joe is those are Facts. Benitez can confirm. ;)

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has replaced Roberto Di Matteo at Chelsea at a fortunate time.
Benitez won the World Club Cup with Inter soon after taking over from Jose Mourinho and could to do so again when Chelsea play in the event next month.
"Rafael Benitez is very lucky," Ferguson said.
"On his CV in two weeks he could have two world championships and nothing to do with the construction of the teams

It's red wine Joe - not whisky.

As for his comments - he's just a wind up merchant. FSW took the bait last time and his 'Fachts' meltdown is right up there with Kegan's 'love it' rant. Fergie was always going to put an early one accross the bows and he's only said what other people have said too.

Whiskeynose is a nickname he has Phil, I'm surprised you didn't know that. Must be because it isn't an accronym. I'll change it to WSKN for you and maybe it'll make more sense for you

I know it's a nickname - I was just pointing out he's a red wine drinker.

but why? I didn't say he wasn't. I was just calling him his nickname.

And as for benitez "meltdown". That was nothing comapred to this little hissy fit from ferguson. The absolute peach behind this little dummy spit was the fact that a few months later Man u didn't even make it through the group stage of CL.

Poetry in motion! "we're not struggling"

how can that non-event clip compare to the Benitez rant?
And you call other fans deluded?

That was just a little one Joe, he has loads of temper tantrums in his press conferences which are much funnier.

FSW's 'Fachts' and Kegan's 'Love it' were classics because they took bait.

I think you took today's one too LOL

Nothing has been funnier than that moment trust me. Well apart from a few months later when he had egg all over his face from what he had said

"We're not struggling"

Wait, I got to go watch it again, brb

.. brilliant.

Oh and for the biggest dummy spit of them all, I don't think you can get even close to fergie's ban on the bbc. that beats them all

As long as you enjoy them Joe.

I'm more than happy with Fergie and what he's achieved.

I'm off to watch the live unveiling of the SAF statue on Sky now.

So all the recent Liverpool managers have been better than fergie?

If u had the chance to have him at Liverpool you would.

If u had the chance to have him at Liverpool you would.

Shudder - at that thought.

It was 18:7 to Liverpool before Fergie turned it around to 18:19.

Liverpool may well be on 40 titles if he'd gone there.

Love the pic of RVP with Cantona.....

Some quotes from today.

Giggs: "His enthusiasm is just as great as it was when I was first met him."
Wenger: "What I admire most about him is his forward thinking. He is always ready to move with the times and never speaks about what he has done before."
Tony Blair: "He is one of these people that has got a strength of character that immediately marks him out as a leader of people."
Gary Neville: "The players respect him and he extracts the maximum out of every single person that is around him and they want to play for him and want to play for this club."
Beckham: "He always made me feel as if I was part of a family and that is how you feel when you're at Manchester United."
Harry Redknapp: "The Top Man"
Jose Mourinho: "I don't call him Alex, Mr or Sir, I call him Boss"
Gordon Brown: "Unmatched Determination and Willpower"
Bryan Robson: "The Boss has probably got the best club manager's record anywhere in the world for what he has achieved."
Schmeichel: "He believes in himself and he is an incredible manager."
Vidic: "The experience he has helps. He gives confidence and belief."
Cantona: "I think in 5 or 10 years time he will be even stronger than he is today. Season after season he is stronger and stronger."
Ronaldo: "I think he is a fantastic person for the young players to work with a coach like him - it's a dream."
Scholes: "Someone is going to have to come in one day and manage this team and if they do as half as well as he has done they will be successful."
Charlton: "He is a very, very capable person and manager and I think the statue will be there forever. It is a marvelous tribute."
Joescrivens: "I dont think there is a more childish manager in football than that old fart"

The FA have dropped the case against Clattenberg and charged Mikel with threatening and abusive behaviour.

The case that keeps on giving : popcorn smiley thing:

OK lets get back to this.

Why did the FA take so long to decide he wasn't guilty. All the match officials immediately supported Clattenburg after the match, this shown have been thrown out within days, not allowed to fester for a month.

Because if they'd arrived at a not guilty quickly they'd be accused of not investigating thoroughly.

and also, just because the match officials supported him doesn't mean he was innocent. You look after your own. They couldn't base their evidence soley on what the other match officals said

Precisely, they had to do more than just ask the other officials what they'd heard. They'd have spoken to all officials and players, probably consulted video footage to see if they could identify him saying anything etc.

I can't really criticise the way the FA handled it. They moved pretty damn swiftly. The way chelsea handled it on the other hand :nono:

Harry in. I may be mad but am confident we will stay up now. I am the eternal optimist.

I am less confident we won't be in administration in 3-4 years time!

I think it's a great appointment, for the short term anyway. Would love to see someone younger working alongside him with a view to stepping up further down the line but such continuity is rare in top flight football these days.

I blame Anton Ferdinand entirely.

He certainly worked his magic again today - on the pitch and shortly after 3 goals conceded, 2 from corners, in 10 minutes. When you think he's played ahead of Hill most of the season :bang:

That said I still think Dinners is entirely to blame. And probably my dad who no doubt made a similar statement, so maybe just 50% to blame.

As for Joe, glad for him he got his reason to celebrate another Man Utd victory, but Joe it really would be much easier if you just came and admitted you were secretly a Utd fan - you'll feel better getting it off your chest and we will be kind to you. :)
