Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has replaced Roberto Di Matteo at Chelsea at a fortunate time.
Benitez won the World Club Cup with Inter soon after taking over from Jose Mourinho and could to do so again when Chelsea play in the event next month.
"Rafael Benitez is very lucky," Ferguson said.
"On his CV in two weeks he could have two world championships and nothing to do with the construction of the teams

As for his comments - he's just a wind up merchant. FSW took the bait last time and his 'Fachts' meltdown is right up there with Kegan's 'love it' rant. Fergie was always going to put an early one accross the bows and he's only said what other people have said too.

And as for benitez "meltdown". That was nothing comapred to this little hissy fit from ferguson. The absolute peach behind this little dummy spit was the fact that a few months later Man u didn't even make it through the group stage of CL.

That was just a little one Joe, he has loads of temper tantrums in his press conferences which are much funnier.

FSW's 'Fachts' and Kegan's 'Love it' were classics because they took bait.

Nothing has been funnier than that moment trust me. Well apart from a few months later when he had egg all over his face from what he had said

Oh and for the biggest dummy spit of them all, I don't think you can get even close to fergie's ban on the bbc. that beats them all

It was 18:7 to Liverpool before Fergie turned it around to 18:19.

Liverpool may well be on 40 titles if he'd gone there.

OK lets get back to this.

Why did the FA take so long to decide he wasn't guilty. All the match officials immediately supported Clattenburg after the match, this shown have been thrown out within days, not allowed to fester for a month.

Because if they'd arrived at a not guilty quickly they'd be accused of not investigating thoroughly.

and also, just because the match officials supported him doesn't mean he was innocent. You look after your own. They couldn't base their evidence soley on what the other match officals said
 
Precisely, they had to do more than just ask the other officials what they'd heard. They'd have spoken to all officials and players, probably consulted video footage to see if they could identify him saying anything etc.

I can't really criticise the way the FA handled it. They moved pretty damn swiftly. The way chelsea handled it on the other hand :nono:

I think it's a great appointment, for the short term anyway. Would love to see someone younger working alongside him with a view to stepping up further down the line but such continuity is rare in top flight football these days.

He certainly worked his magic again today - on the pitch and shortly after 3 goals conceded, 2 from corners, in 10 minutes. When you think he's played ahead of Hill most of the season :bang:

That said I still think Dinners is entirely to blame. And probably my dad who no doubt made a similar statement, so maybe just 50% to blame.

As for Joe, glad for him he got his reason to celebrate another Man Utd victory, but Joe it really would be much easier if you just came and admitted you were secretly a Utd fan - you'll feel better getting it off your chest and we will be kind to you. :)
