Not me. I disliked some of his actions but thought he was a great player and loved watching him. Think he is a truely great player regardless of who he plays for. Same as Giggs and rvp.

Yeah but you also like joey Barton so I'd say your opinion was somewhat questionable!

No different to all controversial players. Ronaldo was hated by everyone who wasn't a united fan, and actually a percentage of united fans, my father in law detested him.

I accept they are both controversial but hated for different reasons.

Ronaldo annoyed me at times but I know many neutral fans that liked him. Suarez, even asking the neutrals, you'd be struggling.

Ronaldo was disliked for diving + being a showy, flashy, annoying and cocky.

Suarez is disliked for diving + dirty, biting, spitting, kicking, racial stuff etc etc.

Putting ability to one side - they both had attributes worthy of being unpopular. Suarez is disgusting though.

You forgot this

Ronaldo is despicable

I hadn't forgotten that.

and no I'm not going to compile a Suarez montage LOL

Doh - just realised the United Arsenal game is an early kick off tomorrow.

Ahhh right, just chose not to mention it in your list. That old chestnut.

Keep trying Joe

I'm not mentioning loads of things that lots have players have done but it's not the main thing they're associated with or the main reason they're disliked.

If you honestly think Ronaldo was disliked for the same sort of reasons that Suarez is then I think you're clutching at straws.

You brought Ronaldo up - I was simply stating that the main reason a lot of people disliked Ronaldo was because he was flash and cocky.

I would go as far as to say that Suarez is viewed in this country as being far more disgusting than Ronaldo and that's despite Ronaldo being an arse against England which did him no favours.

Disagree with this entirely. Good effort though

And I have to say the irony in some of your points when a member of your team last season could have given someone permanent brain damage with a deliberate elbow is astounding.

agree with this entirely. Good effort

Corrected that for you

Joking aside - If you look back through the football threads (not literally) you'll find that I don't condone crappy tackles or elbows regardless of who does them and what team they play for.

I've said all that needs to be said regarding why people feel so strongly about Suarez. I'd certainly sooner see somebody blatently kick or even punch than the horrible things he does in such a sly sneaky way.

You're entitled to your mentalist opinions, but the bile you spit does crack me up.

Bile? Nothing I've said is untrue, it's just whether his footballing ability is sufficient to outweigh the rest of the things and that's where personal opinion comes in.

I can hand on heart say I wouldn't want him at Arsenal.

See! This cracks me up! Of course you would have him at Arsenal. Even the mancs would love him there. A talented footballer who is a moron. Kind of like the paragon of virtue Roy Keane. Ah yes. Him. HYPOCRISY HYPOCRISY I HARDLY KNEW YE!

I'm tired.

I've spoken loads at length about how I find him a horrible individual however on ability alone (which I've never questioned) I'd take him at United.

I suspect that's more honest than hypocritical if the truth be known however if he was playing for United (in the same manner) I'm sure he would get far more stick than he already gets at Liverpool so it would be down to Fergie to ensure he'd bring enough to the squad to be worth the hassle.

I'm sorry, but again you're confusing your perceptions with reality.

Regarding Ronaldo, I admire and respect his ability but consider him a bit of a toad based on what I've seen of him. Unlike so many of you here though, I do not consider myself qualified to sit on judgement of him and I certainly so not consider myself omnipotent enough to know what his intentions ever are on or off the pitch.

Football seems to remove reason.

I do understand why people don't like LS, but I also recognize that the hypnotic power of the media and personal tribe allegiances have had on the perception of him. From everything I've seen off the pitch and the way his team mates love him I'd be more inclined to think that LS is a decent man with flaws.

Ronaldo is unquestionably a better footballer but I do not see his team mates loving him. That's more the mark of a good man, I think.

The only reason why Liverpool team mates love Suarez is because Suarez is their only hope.......one man team.

Again, you have made the same mistake everyone else is making. You believe your opinion is fact. I wasn't aware that you knew every Liverpool squad member and were privy to their private thoughts.

His source told him.

The only reason why Liverpool team mates love Suarez is because the bosses told them to and wear silly tshirts proclaiming such.

Are you quoting this as a fact? If so then please excuse me while I laugh. Quite a bit.

And a reliable one it is too. will agger be starting for city this weekend I wonder? ;)

Was wondering the same...

If you'd listen to Kenny on talksport earlier in the week you'll hear that the t-shirts were the players idea. No reason to doubt that unless you wish to call him a liar too...

Nah he's signing for PSG.

Usually I try and stay out of the football banter as so many on here are about as funny as Jethro but some of the comments re: Suarez are so hypocritical its hilarious.

ANY football fan would want him in their team on talent alone. As I said up there, any who say otherwise are dirty liars! Put it this way, if Wayne Rooney was available tomorrow, I'd have him at Liverpool. If Gary Neville was available ten years ago, I would have had him at Liverpool. Thierry Henry, of course, even Ronaldo.

I am a football fan first and foremost and any player that would improve my team would be welcome.

no reason I should believe kenny though ... but i only said it in jest and dont really care what liverpool players do when they're so far down the league :D

Call me a liar if you like, but I wouldn't have taken Gary Neville ever. He made far too many derogatory comments about our club. Rooney for sure. :)

Anyway - football today !

Looking forward to United v Arsenal now I've managed to reorganise my day LOL

Just trying to sort out my fantasy footy team for the day. Anyone know if Howard Webb is starting for united?

Why oh why is santos playing. Better to have sagna there and jenkinson at rb. Also why drop an in form Walcott for Ramsey???? Ramsey is ineffective and the best way to beat Man U is to attack them. They are weak at the back like us.

Manchester United fans singing "are you saville in disguise?" to Wenger....really classy!

It's so clear that podolski hates playing with santos behind him. He's such a liability and hampers out attack as well as defense. I also have no idea why Walcott isn't on there when he's been so good recently.

Decent enough first half performance for United but (missed pen aside) we should really be going in with more than the one goal advantage. Hope we don't pay for it in the second half.

Great miss from Valencia - bad feeling about this game.

That was a horrible challenge on Evra by Vermalen

Horrible miss from RVP too. Can see us getting pick pocketed here.

2:0 - about time too. This one should be in the bag.

Just realised I paused it earlier so I'm behind everybody else. Lol
