oh well at least we don't have to play dirty leeds.
chelsea won't fancy it either especially away

Your verdict?

The Tribute - It's a regular and was bright Joe. A few early pulls - should be running nicely for the weekend.

Another St. Austell on tonight too (Tinners) which hasn't been on for a while so that was good.

Verdict on the footy........ I felt like we were a nut that only just got cracked by a sledgehammer tonight.

Really quite miffed. Not because we're out but because we were so close to getting through with the team selection we went with.

We'd played well and at 3:2 up (against a strong Chelsea team) we were all but through till the 93rd min when we gave a away the pen.

As per my earlier post - as soon as extra time was on the cards it was obvious Chelsea would go on and and win so I stuck with my plan to go for a pint.

A fantastic couple of nights Capital One footy though

Well, I find myself not bothered on the slightest at losing tonight. We have too small a squad to be worrying about this competition. I'm glad we won it last year, but risking Suarez for half the match was daft. Should have given the youngsters a chance. And please for the love of God get Joe Cole of the books.

Are Liverpool a one man team then Deano?

Silly boy. He's our prized asset and only fit first team striker.

Rodgers bemoaning a thin squad, especially on the attacking front, won't get sympathy from anyone. Loaning out Carroll remains a baffling decision.

He believed without doubt he would get at least one replacement. Let down by upstairs. The bigger issue is letting so many first team players go who could still do a good job.

incorrect.

It was based on the fact that he would get replacements and then didn't. An upper management call

rodriguez was one of them. A fantastic player who never got enough game time.

All about chopping the wage bill though

Absolutely. He had at least a season in him, especially when we kept hold of Joe Cole who simply cannot handle the pace of this league any more. Should have sold him to a French club after his good season with Lille.

Roberto Di Matteo is now saying that last nights victory shows how sundays game was influenced by the ref:cuckoo:.The fact we only had one player who started the game on sunday had no bearing on the result at all:D

This is true, Ferguson even left Clattenburg from his starting 12

Not had tinners before. My real ale app describes it as "ideal for revitalising the palate when drunk with a curry, chilli or spicy Italian lasagne."

Would you concur?

Trelawny is the best st Austell ale. But none of them have a patch on skinners.

If you add a comma before the word 'with' then - yes

I don't believe those things. Did I miss it earlier? Are you a bitter blue?

I'm just a regular Evertonian. Funny how Kopites call us bitter, but all the bitterness this week has come from across Stanley Park

Love that first part

Luis Suarez. He’s the new Cristiano Ronaldo. Supporters of the club he plays for love him. Supporters of everyone other club absolutely hate him. Whether it’s because of a jealousy over his extraordinary talent or because of his well documented “antics”, it’s difficult to tell.

How is it difficult to tell ?

Most people are quite open and honest about the fact that they find him vile.

:lol::lol::lol: Sorry, I could barely read through the tears of laughter brought on by the comparison of Suarez to Ronaldo. Nevertheless, I persevered and couldn't disagree with the article more. He is more despicable than every other professional footballer I can think of...even Joey Barton shock horror.

His dives could be extensively documented, it's no strain to recall multiple instances. He bit another player. That in itself is about the single most disgusting thing you could do to another person on a football pitch. Add to that the racism, the malicious tackles, and the horrible sportsmanship and you're left with a disgusting, vile individual undeserving of his football talent, and deserving of all the hate that gets directed his way.

Claiming he's some type of footballing prodigy is clutching at straws to excuse what a horrible little man he is. He's good, but he's not in the realm of Messi, Ronaldo, Cavani, Falcao, Hazard, RVP, Pirlo, Iniesta, Xavi and no doubt more that I've not mentioned.

You're entitled to your mentalist opinions, but the bile you spit does crack me up.

I've said many times that I think Suarez is a decent player in fact I think he's a very good player. That said there have been and still are, loads of players better than Suarez as well as players that have done well against Man United but I've never disliked them bacuse of their ability or who they play for.

Suarez does get a lot of stick for diving but if I'm honest that doesn't really bother me.

Besides the diving, card baiting and ref hounding - the thing I dislike are the whole raft of other less savoury misdemeanors that he dishes out in a very sly manner which (if spotted) will instantly be accompanied by very over the top apologetic gestures and concern for the player despite the fact you can tell when watching replays that he often does it deliberately.

Off the top of my head I can think of sneaky examples of two footed tackles, forearm in face, spitting in players face, kicking players on floor, high stamps, eye gouging, racially abusing, biting (that was my favourite), handballing, hair pulling and probably a few others everybody has missed.

As I said - good player but (much as Liverpool fans would like to think) not the reason he's so disliked.

Phil, I think you're mistaking your perception of events for facts.

Phil, we're talking about Suarez not Rooney :bonk:

I think that you think that I think :)

I just pointed out my reasons for disliking him and explained that they're not down to his ability, the fact that he's a Liverpool player and not because of the Evra thing.

At the end of the day I would expect no less than 100% of Liverpool fans to like him. That's football.

On the flip side though, you would expect those not blinkered (all other supporters) to have divided opinions however the reality is he's pretty much detested by all of them.

We'll never agree though ;)

No different to all controversial players. Ronaldo was hated by everyone who wasn't a united fan, and actually a percentage of united fans, my father in law detested him.

Not me. I disliked some of his actions but thought he was a great player and loved watching him. Think he is a truely great player regardless of who he plays for. Same as Giggs and rvp.
