Actually, despite my intense dislike for ratboy as a person I think he's an excellent pundit.

One of the better pundits out there, unlike Redknapp who seems to tell you what happened, Gary tells you how it happened.

Gary seems to have the ability to explain what happened and how, be it the creation of space by Everton last week against Newcastle or how the ref viewed the penalty calls in the Liverpool/Man Utd game.

As a co-commentator he is awful (the mini orgasm he had when Chelsea scored against Barca last season still haunts my sleep at random moments) but would happily sit and listen to Gary deconstruct the important part of the games.

Any one watching Being Liverpool on Channel 5 ?? .... What a load of shi!e and a wast of money.

Any one watching Being Liverpool on Channel 5 ??

Yup. Watched it friday. First episode was good, very interesting to see the behind the scenes stuff going on. Looking forward to the rest of the show in the coming weeks

The sign outside Liverpool John Lennon Airport has been amended this morning to read " Above us only sky ...and below us only QPR & Reading

I really enjoyed it. Couldn't work out if it was a one off or a series? Be even more interesting if something like that followed the ups and downs of a full season.

Well, I watch it all and TBH I enjoyed it too lol.

Yes it is a series. It's on again on Friday.

Excellent :) I thought it was a series from the build up but then the actually programme felt more like a one-off. Not sure I'll be watching this Friday with FIFA coming out that day though :D

That's what sky plus is for. I think there are 7 episodes in total.

Slightly OT but who's getting FIFA13? Could be worth setting up a few online matches :)

Breaking news Liverpool have signed Chinese international on a free transfer ..........

WIN ONE SOON

I went looking for a link to a 'phone in' call from an older chap that I heard on the radio earler tonight. I'll keep looking for it as it was a great insight into how football fans have changed over the years. Quite humbling if I'm honest.

In the meantime I found this light hearted fun ad for the 'Being Liverpool' show......

I think I've found the clip of the call I was after earlier on tonight.

I know it's an age thing but I wanted to post this because it came on the radio on the back of the match and I found it humbling.

Kind of made us younger bickering folk on both sides feel a bit silly.

Apparently Lukas Podolski has said "I'm thinking of getting an Arsenal tattoo"...

That'll be a bit awkward when he goes to Man City next year.

INTERNET trolls have taunted cancer fight soccer ref Mark Halsey.

Halsey, 51, was targeted after sending off Liverpool’s Jonjo Shelvey — then awarding a penalty to Man United in Sunday’s crunch Premier League match.

United won 2-1 following an emotion-charged pre-match tribute to the 96 Hillsborough victims.

One troll tweeted: “I hope Mark Halsey gets cancer again and dies.”

Vile messages also mentioned his wife Michelle, who has leukaemia. One was sent to his son.

Match officials’ union Prospect called the rants “beneath contempt”.

Halsey, who beat throat cancer after being diagnosed in 2009, will ref a Capital One cup match at Southampton tonight.

He said: “My family have made a complaint to the police. I’ll speak to them on Wednesday.”

these vile trolls who are sending tweets to the ref about cancer are every bit as despicable as the man united fans singing hilsborough songs at the match the other night. They all make my blood boil.

Just for the record....I thought we had mentioned that the ATV is not just about Hillsborough...you need to get your facts right.

And more for the record....you won't catch me singing at any football match, I can't as my gob is usually stuffed with a prawn sarnie!

and like I said, if you really think that when it was sung at the end of the game that was a tribute to hillsborough it wasn't about it then you are being very naive.

But you're being naive thinking that it was just about Hillsboro'.... unfortunately*, the song has the media/anti scum sounding songs/vile chant haters in a quandary because it does not refer to one particular instance against Liverpool..(whether it be football or the city)

* I say unfortunately because if it was about one particular instance, it would be easy to stamp it out which would benefit everyone.

we'll have to agree to disagree on that one tom.

I'll sit in the middle on this one.

As previously explained - ATV is an anti Liverpool song not a specific Hillsborough song.

ATV was heard for the first time after the final whistle on Sunday and was directed at the handful of Liverpool supporters who made their way down the Main stand towards the Anfield Road end doing Munich aeroplanes.

Whilst I'm not condoning either or suggesting 'tit for tat' is in any way acceptable - I think it's fair to say that on this occasion, it was sung to be as offensive as possible.

Offensive chants in football is world wide, and nothing new. It was there in the 30's and 40's as were football hooligan's. So if your easily offended I suggest you find another past time because its not going away.

Now, I'm not saying its right, just saying its part of football and its not going away.

Agree.

Getting it on Friday (Xbox version), mainly because my local team make it's first appearance in it. Not bought a FIFA game since 2009 so downloaded the demo to see what's changed....surprising for an EA game a fair amount has, seems a lot better now.

It'll do until Football Manager 2013 is released, then it's goodbye social life and hello long nights and the usual threats from the missus that she is leaving me if I don't stop playing the game.

Footie hooliganism is on the decline, what the authorities now want is sterile atmosphere without any banter.

If you look back through my whole time posting on these boards you will see I advocate the sticks and stones mentality.....why can't everyone else?

Racism is a totally different matter though and we are still years away from a neutral outlook.

I reckon if you ask (in a debating scenario) if Man U fans are bothered about someone singing the Munich song....majority will not be bothered as it really doesn't take away any glorious memories that the folk who can remember the wonderful players and 'civies' that perished, have of them.

Maybe in 25 years time the Liverpool fans will be of the same thinking and just focus on the wonderful people who perished.

I'll be getting it on ps3. FIFA has changed plenty in recent years whilst PES seems to have fallen generations behind. I'm a big fan of Ultimate Team if anyone else plays that and fancies a few games.

Going to hold off football manager a little while this year. Since steam started showing the amount of hours you've played a game it's made me reluctant to play it more, the figure is high enough as it is although I blame the fact I leave it on in the background :D

 someone has added "below us only qpr and reading" to the Liverpool John Lennon Airport sign that reads "Above us only sky"

Looking forward to Manchester United v Newcastle United tonight. Rooney and Fletcher start in a fairly interesting team selection. Keen to see how the defence fairs.

Another full house at The Emirates, with Coventy selling 10,000 tickets for tonight game. What?? They don't sell 10,000 tickets for a home game.

It's all the Man U fans who can't make their way from London to old Trafford on a Wednesday eve :D

Nice goal from Anderson
