RVP to sign for Man United today i believe. Watch this space. :naughty:

sounds like a possible agger switch to city getting adam johnson in return on loan.

Would miss agger but would welcome johnson.

Hopefully RVP signing for united will mean a move on for rooney

Adam Johnson needs regular football and I can't see it happening at City - it hasn't happened since he joined in 2010. He has so much potential and being an Englishman would love to see him develop into a regular at International level.

yes agreed, I think he could be a superb player with the right team

Joe, every player that Liverpool are linked with you think is the answer and the players you have you think are the best but maybe are played out of position or just having a dip in form....How come you are not a manager of a football team or do I know the reason for that?

I am all for supporting a football team but you are not rational in your approach to Liverpool, no wonder the layman hates footie fans.

i disgaree. I have no opinion on borini, never seen him play - you can't point to posts where I have been bigging him up.

I never rated bellamy when he came to us, scan back last year to see.

I've spent all season berating henderson and I have commented many many times on how poor charlie adam has been. I also have been uncomplimentary about glen johnson last season and said many a bad word against gerrard.

I have always rated adam johnson, today is the first time I have heard he is coming this way.

The evidence of everything I said above is in these posts so you are off the mark there.

I honestly can't see it happening. Especially since reports have said he's in Manchester today despite being pictured in training with some of the Arsenal team.

Barcelona v Man Utd on now. Both at full strength which is nice to see for pre-season warm ups.

Joe, what little faith you have in me and my memory.......

In this thread (I cannot direct quote it for some reason) you go on & on about your new signings ........ Charlie Adam for instance.....

Yet your memory is too weak to remember the end of the season where I berated Adam, Gerard and Henderson? Do I need to go back and quote the posts or can we leave it there?

But my point stands about new recruits....come on Joe admit that you are wrong, it is written in black & white with your own fair hands (well maybe a fore finger or two)

Show me the post where I bigged up borini and I will admit you are right.

Tweets circulating that joe Allen to Liverpool for £15m is very close to a done deal. Not a cheap buy but he plays such a nice passing game it should completely change the way the team play. With Rogers in control I think I may go back to liking Liverpool :D

Unfortunately they are so far behind other teams it won't matter who is in charge. Liverpool have lost unrecoverable ground in the last 6 years. (I hope that last sentence reads well?)

Not so, if they bring their chance conversion rate up to a competitive level they'll be right back challenging for the top 4 but the fight for those positions will be hotter than ever with maybe 7 teams fighting for them.

Now if Fergie continues to chat crap in the media about the RVP transfer and he does end up at Old Trafford you'll be right in my firing line for some hate...unless you pay more than £20m and he picks up an early injury, then I'll say thanks :D

Aint gonna happen unless it's on United's terms. RVP is going grey.

Arsenal are doing nothing wrong - they're simply putting a value on RVP based on what Chelsea, City or PSG 'would' pay - clubs who have no need to consider resale or length of service.

I gave my reasons ages ago in this thread as to why RVP (or others) won't / don't come to United regardless of the fact they want the move.

Agüero, Sneijder, Nasri, Hazard, Modic, Lucas Moura to name just a few - all happy with 'done deals' but they didn't happen.

I'd love to see Gill and Co give the nod to chuck some money at established players but (take Berbatov for example) I'm all for youth.

lost ground yes.

unrecoverable? Nothing is unrecoverable with the right formula. It might not happen in 1 season though, some times take some time to settle. If rodgers and his current squad is the right formula then it can be recovered. Whether it is or not remains to be seen.

easy win last night against an easy team, putting us into the wonderful europa league - thursday night football on channel 5 i can't wait for it :gag:

If my Auntie had balls and all that........what if chelsea, city & united all up their conversion rate too?

Not a bad start Joe but Arsenal will drop out of the top 4 for me and Spurs will replace them.

I get the top 5 but am struggling with who the bottom 5 are.

I'me guessing 16 & 17 are Ason Villa & Wigan?

Here's my top four

1. Arsenal (without RVP)
2. Chelsea
3. Man City
4. Man United

Has anyone noticed the 3 world class signings Wenger has made? And more to come!

United, too many ageing players that need replacing. Chelsea, strong squad, can't understand why their not in
For RVP.

not doubting that The Team Formerly Known as Van Persie (TTFKAVP) are going to be strong this season, but putting man u and city 3rd and 4th is crazy talk

Podolski, yes, very good signing, world class player and being German should fit in well. No guarantees with new signings of course but is excellent. Giroud - who knows, could be great, could be awful!! Spanish guy looks good but add in the probable loss of RVP (or even if he stays he is unlikely to repeat last season), that is not enough to make up 20 points.

I didn't realise you were an oracle as well as being a bitter Manc.

Maybe Joe maybe. I just feel that the two
Manchester clubs won't be having it all their own way this season. I think Chelsea will be back this year, and I honesty believe if Wenger signs a right back and a holding midfield, we will be a lot stronger, not to mention young Jack hopefully coming back at some stage.

As for RVP, don't care who he signs for, yes he had ONE great season, so could any decent forward playing for Arsenal with Theo, Song, The Ox and Arteta putting the goals on a plate.

We Arsenal fans have seen this all before with Adebayor.

Its the players behind all those I have no confidence in! The fact that we dont seem to train on defending!
