Must win game for City now. Just hope the right Arsenal turn up today.

Glad Liverpool made a game of it in the 2nd half. :) They were pretty poor in the 1st half.

Positive signs with Suarez, Sturridge and Borini on at the same time. And good for Sturridge to get the 1st league goal out of the way. :) 2 in 2 games is a good start.

3 more points.

We let a very poor Liverpool side have far too much in the middle in that 2nd half.

We seem so much better when we're level or behind than when we're trying to stay ahead.

Fingers crossed Arsenal will be on their game now.

General consensus from my father in law (man u fan) was that yes should have been a draw in the end. Liverpool just didn't play in the first half and made it too easy for united who were certainly not playing at all near their best. When Liverpool stepped it up in second half it showed how average Man U were today and they were lucky to get away with the win. Especially given their winning goal was offside

Ah we'll that's football, just glad the game was decided on the pitch rather than by the ref.

I take umbrage at the "very poor" label. We outplayed you completely in the second half, but I agree that 1st half we were awful.

All in all I'm not that unhappy for the reasons Joe mentioned. Suarez and Sturridge linked up well and passed to each other.

Arteta out injured but Diaby is set to start in his place. May as well get some use from him in a big game before his next 3 month lay off

I don't hold out much hope for a good result today though.

Pretty much agree apart from a draw being a fair result. The game should have been dead and buried at half time. United wasted chances and against better opposition we'd have dropped points with that second half performance.

Even at 3-0 at halftime your second half performance wouldnt have warranted a win. Liverpool were just as wasteful and could have scored 2 or 3 in second half. Add that to a goal that was offside on your part and the result easily could have been a draw.

Se la vie

On phone so not writing in full but by "very poor" I mean a very poor 'Liverpool' side. 2nd half was much better but the emphasis was always going to be about Liverpool chasing the game. Annoys me when United do that as we're better on the offensive.

Haven't seen the Koscielny foul but it sounds like exactly the type of thing people are calling to be dealt with more seriously. Problem is you could probably find 4 other similar incidents this weekend alone of defenders wrapping their arms around someone that have gone unpunished. How many times have we seen similar from Terry, Ferdinand and many other centre-backs? All I want is consistency in their enforcement.

Of course our terrible record with Mike Dean officiating doesn't help the matter!

City two goals up and it's looking very one sided. Time to walk the dogs I think.

Bloody stupid foul to make at that stage in the game.

Was harsh to say the least

Not to mention how much Garcia has got away with. Wilshere has been kicked to death all game. City have kicked the ball away multiple times. It's all just too inconsistent. Made worse by the fact we've been landed with this incompetent moron 3 more times than any other referee this season!

Im back from the game.

my god was it freezing out their!

on to the match. atmosphere was brilliant, we got behind our team throughout the game. no silence or anything. City fans were vocal too dispite only a few of them their.

On to the game.

Sorry but what was that penalty all about? i saw nothing. was shocked Kos got sent off as to me and the other 59k fans it was not a pen nevermind a sending off. what a ****ing joke the ref is.

he ruined the game big time. the 1st goal city scored was a joke. that was never a free kick! but arsenal were switched off and wasnt prepared so 1:0 down with a man down. game over really.

ref spoiled the game big time. it was a tall order playing city with 11 men but 10 men and a goal giften by the ref? no chance unless city hand us the opportunity which they diddnt.

Overal the lads did the best they can with the handicapped they had throughout the match. i cant understand why Diaby was playing? he is not match fit and has been injured since last summer. why play him in such a high profile match? Play Ramsey instead or Ashavin.

Johnny -

Watch MOTD later and then tell me it's not a pen! Never a sending off though.

We were controlling the game for the first 10 mins but will never know the real outcome as mike dean ruined the game - so many mistakes both ways it's not funny.

Still, just about keeps the title race open

100% pen. Think it was a sending off, after all, had it been kompany on Walcott in the same situation I am sure every arsenal fan would be moaning if the ref had shown yellow. Even if he ref got it wrong, it is all koscielnys fault. If you put both arms round someone and bring them down while being last man you are asking the ref to make a decision. Total stupidity.

Kompany should not have seen red though.

Agreed. Ref had no choice with Koschelny, Kompany's red was an absolute joke!

Its games like today that we miss Song more than RVP

Song was forever a liability. We need a proper defensive oriented midfielder with a physical presence. Song never provided that with any reliability. Sissoko is confirmed as available for just £2.8m, at that price there's not a single reason not to sign him in my opinion. I'd also love to see Mbiwa join as he can play across the back 4 or as a holding midfield.

I'm getting an increasingly horrible feeling we won't sign anyone.

Sissoko's very injury prone.Would be a good signing if he could stay fit though

If we were looking to bring a couple of players in then it should have be done January 1st, so no, not holding my breath.

I do think we are missing Song, someone whos not afraid to mix it in midfield, instead we have 5ft nothings who go missing when the going gets tough.

First time in 38 years of supporting Arsenal, I was offered a ticket and a lift to yesterdays game...... I turned it down.

so did a lot of city fans due to the astronimical prices. £62 for a standard ticket is daylight robbery and acknowledged by the linesman

Garcia's stamp wasn't intentional, he didn't go out of his way to stamp on Jack, simply continuing his running path.

Vermaelen was at fault for the first goal. Not sure making him captain was that much of a good idea, his season thus far has been flawed.

It is only what Manu and Liverpool fans have had to endure for years....why the big hoo har because it is city fans?

Oh and I think every club does it to some extent, even city do it.

Cripes, aren't people getting bored of this £62 away ticket price story? Yes, it is ridiculously expensive and it is something that definitely needs to be addressed, but it's been going on for a week now. Also, bare in mind an away ticket for QPR vs Spurs was £57 this weekend. That's not exactly value for money is it?

It may have changed but my understanding is that whilst clubs pretty much set their own prices - games are 'rated' in terms of the fixture. Matches against Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United etc are catergory A fixtures so travelling supporters of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester Uninted etc face catergory A prices for every away game.

I turned mine down for football reasons, but fully agree with the cost of tickets nowadays.

Thought the 3rd official/linesman was out of order and should keep his opinions to himself! Wasn't long ago these refs did it for free, so maybe the high cost of tickets is to cover the cost of
there wages.

When have they done it for free? At that level especially.

you're having a laugh aren't you?

Whats the average weekly wage bill at a premier league club like city, arsenal or liverpool?

A linesman makes about £600 a game in the premier league I believe.

Don't you think the ticket prices are more likely because of inflated player wages?
