Not surprising considering they offered a reported £15m!

Well after this comment Joe....no more wasting my time reading your OOF dribble...........jeesh!
Man united bid for van persie rejected.
I knew you would fail![]()
Don't get me wrong I'd be more than happy to see him at United but he's not really what we need to be spending money on.
Fergie has been a long time admirer of RVP and history shows he's willing to ignore the policy of signing talent rather than established players now and again but only if the price is right.
Last season RVP had a blinder. Prior to that it was hit and miss and injury after injury. No guarantee which player you would get for your money and his age means no re-sale value. United (unlike others) will value him on that basis so it simply won't happen.
Anyway - GB V Brazil
This thread is not really OOF it has just been put here.
Any way, I commented on the £20 thread since and you never batted an eyelid.
A thread about football isn't oof? You've said some funny things but that takes the biscuit.
Also yes you posted again in the £20 thread but not a reply to me so there was no evidence you were reading my "dribble"
No, my threat was never to read a dribble thread started by you...............

so with that in mind you are saying they won't be upping their bid.
And yet when you read your quote you never mentioned the word "thread".
Anyway, it's of no importance. I won't be wasting anymore energy discussing it![]()
Who knows
I doubt United would have offered their maximum bid as a first bid so I suspect they would offer a bit more but thy certainly wont offer silly money for a player of that age.
I'm not saying he's not worth a lot more - just that United have a budget and wouldn't pay a fortune for such a player.
Other clubs can / will though & that's why I can't see him coming to United.
I suppose time will tell if united are desperate enough to pay silly money for him or not
Or we could become more desperate and buy Mr Carroll for £35m............

I just don't think we want him enough to pay what he's worth.
By all accounts Juventus are offering him £190K PW and are looking to bring him in as well as Suarez.
The Mirror reporting United have finally agreed a fee (£26m) with Sao Paulo for Lucas Moura (Lucas Da Silva) - personal terms to be agreed.
The Mirror have jumped the gun before with United (Sneijder, Nasri to name but two) so we'll have to wait and see.
back on the prowl to RVP then?

barton could go on loan to a football league club and serve out his ban quicker. That shouldn't be allowed surely

Why would a club loan a player for 12 games that isn't eligible to play? Even if it costs them nothing it gains them nothing either. He's hardly a bloke you want around for his wisdom!

He has his faults of course, but his level of training, touch, passing would likely be at a higher level and might therefore raise the bar around the club. He might play a few games which could add to gate receipts, profile etc. Could be a win win all round.
joescrivens said:how would he play any games? he has a 12 match ban. presumably if they are sending him on loan to use up those games then as soon as he hits the 13th game he's back at qpr?
Not sure it's worth starting a thread for it, last year's one didn't really get that much attention. No reason why we can't keep it all in here.![]()
Scratch that, I've put a sticky up advertising the fact.
